Michigan may lose this game, but they definitely look tougher, at least on defense.

I am confused why Rudock is playing. He wasn't even going to be the starting quarterback at Iowa, but is considered the best qb at Michigan?

Agreed. I really expected them to be down by a few scores already. Their defense has played exceptionally well through 2Qs, let's see if they can keep it sustained because Utah has been close to hitting the gas a couple times but it's faltered.

hard to run right into the teeth of 8 and 9 man fronts, especially when RB's like Derrick Green cut away from open gaps and into defensive players. I saw Green do that twice this game so far. Bad vision.

Jake Rudock is also playing like crap. That OL is giving him ample time to throw and he threw 1 really bad pick and completely missed twice on deep balls where WR Jehu Chesson had the Utah DB's torched by several yards both times.

This is a different ball game if Rudock hits on those deep passes.

Michigan's problem was never really on defense. Greg Mattison is still a good coach. Their defense appeared to be worse than they really were last season because they were on the field an awful lot due to the inept offense and the turnovers. We really struggled to run the ball at times against them last year, but fortunately Gardner couldn't keep from giving us the ball so we had plenty of opportunities. That led to very lopsided win.

Michigan got bailed out on late hit. But honestly either Michigan hasn't played that bad or Utah is not as good as I thought
