The announcer got all excited a flag was thrown on the onside kick. Does he not realize the kick went out of bounds causing a flag to be thrown?

Michigan would be dangerous with a QB. Although Utahs play calling was very suspect.

Utah missed some fgs. I thought they moved the ball really well between the 20s

Half of Mgoblog was predicting 10-2. I get way to much enjoyment from this.

Most of my friends around campus are hoping for 9-3, predicting 7-5.

I think, above all else, Michigan fans just want a team that competes and plays hard all 60 minutes--unlike last year's squad. I think they showed tonight that they will do that. But talent-wise, they are a 7 win team.

Peppers and Butt, however, are two of the best in the game.

Now on to real cfb....can't wait for Saturday night...

Why do M people keep saying that? They were the ones who kept pointing out that they were getting 4 & 5 star recruits.

Excellent start to the weekend. Love heading to the airport for south bend with a Michigan loss already on the books for the week.

Rational M fans recognize that while, yes,, they did grab some highly regarded recruits, those recruits were either not developed at all under Hoke or they are actually just huge busts.

Just as NDNation is not representative of all ND fans, MGo isn't representative of all M fans.

I can never jump on the "Fuck Michigan" train because the legal education I am receiving here is absolutely world class and has opened more doors for me than just about any other school can. However, you better believe I will have a smug smile on my face in class Monday while wearing The Shirt.

I wonder if Tom Haverford who was all over this board this week will be back with his thoughts.

I'm sure he will be. He was posting here during the actual game.

It's not like he has crow to eat. He predicted a loss, but one that they fought hard in. That's what happened.

Here's the thing, M fans were screaming to take out Ruddock (sp?) and put in Morris. Harbaugh didn't even put Morris in at the end. So how close really was the QB competition and/or how poor is he comparatively speaking?

As someone was saying (Sherm?) not sure if Utah just isn't as good as I thought or if Michigan played better than I thought. Butt is an NFL starting TE.

I honestly don't think Morris would have done any better. Utah's secondary was balling hard, and Ruddock was taking big hit after big hit. Morris has shown he can't survive when he is getting hit.

I think Utah is who we thought they were. They beat the spread against a hard fighting Michigan team. If they wouldn't have had that dumb penalty (which UM converted into a TD) and missed two FG's, this game could have been a blowout.

But even without that... They still beat the spread.

That's true. And teams aren't as crisp in Game 1 as they will be in game 6.

Utah also caught some breaks, UM had the Utes secondary beat on 3 or 4 deep balls that were just overthrown. Could have just as easily gone the other way. The play calling was solid, but either the execution or skill just wasn't there.

Also, Jabrill Peppers was a stud. He's the kind of player ND desperately needs.

Peppers is a game changer. If Crawford can give us 75% of what Peppers is, he'll be a major contributor when he comes back from injury.

I listened to an Austin radio show where they were singing the praises of Jaylon Smith and said, "Jaylon Smith is what you hope Malik Jefferson becomes at Texas". I'd say Peppers is what we hope Crawford can approach at ND.

I hate writing such glowing things about anyone from UM but Peppers is a baller. And his lone penalty, a PI down the field was garbage. He was so draped over the Utah TE or WR, they grabbed his jersey and pulled him to get the call.
