I wonder if they do that for Gary Moeller, Rich Rod, or Brady Fat Ass?

I actually just scrolled through the tweets to see if they did it for Brady but it cut off at August 30th and I'm not Twitter smart enough to know how to go back to August 3rd.

It was worth it though, because reliving the ND game through their sad tweets (and cocky as fuck pre-game tweets) is hilarious.

Why in the hell would Jason Garrett go to Michigan?

Si.com is now reporting UM is interested in Nick Saban, Bill Bellicheck and the ghost of Vince Lombardi

He wouldn't, those are delusional thoughts.

Just relaying what I read on si.com, but please read carefully. It said scUM was interested in those three. It didn't say a thing about any of the three being interested in scUM. That tells me they are reaching out to their agents to see if there may be some interest.

Makes it sound like Harbaugh will likely be on board, given that they "Think they have their guy" and "Waiting for everything to be signed, etc." It's disappointing if that's the case, but not a surprise if it does happen. It's a shame Harbaugh mended fences after having such scathing remarks for his former school a few years ago during the Hoke search.

shefter saying UM interim AD Hackett and Harboughs dad are tight....and really trying to convince him now.
if I had to bet-i'd say hes coaching the maze and blue next year.
my hunch: jim hasn't quite convinced his wife that (pure) Michigan is where she wants to live instead of California.

UM board says there is a presser at halftime of their BBall game on 12/30/14. This matches the earlier statement re transportation being arranged on that date.

Probably going to get smashed for this but I think it is good for college football if Harbaugh goes to scUM. It will help them be relevant again and also help the strength of the BIG10 which will take attention off of the SEC. Colleges need to keep or get all the big name coaches they can.

Also it will be sweeter when Harbaugh builds them back up to a contender and we are there waiting to kick their ass!

I don't think we are kicking anyones ass if Harbaugh is their coach. IF he does what he did at Stanford. The first few years are going to be very lean however.

While I understand your thinking I will politely disagree and not smash you. When he builds them back up we will be competing for (and losing some) recruits which will hurt us. Not sure when we will play them again so kicking their ass is down the road awhile.

We can always meet for a bowl game or playoff matchup.

Homerun hire for Michigan. Michigan being good is good for college football, but this is horrible for ND. Sets OSU and Michigan up to be powerhouse programs in the midwest.

^^^ damn.... thats not a good sign...

Very old, before any of the recent developments and a product of nothing but homerism by UM fans at the time.

EDIT: I'm not saying that he isn't going to Michigan, I'm just saying that the line moving 3 weeks ago wasn't great evidence compared to recent information that has become available. The ties being ordered from the Ann Arbor store a few days ago was literally the best piece of concrete evidence I've seen that he's going to Michigan... because there are frankly almost no other plausible explanations for him ordering ties from an upscale Ann Arbor clothing store than that he needs a Michigan tie for a presser.

Harbaugh's a tough S.O.B. as a winning system coach. He can't possibly be Daddy Teddy Bear like Hoke in the living room, so his first year of recruiting will probably be just OK. We have that year to establish ourselves as the superior destination. Once he reconstitutes Michigan as a Superthug team, the recruits will scramble to get to Ann Arbor --- but even then I'll bet he pulls more away from Urban than us. We need to hold Indiana, Chicago, Minnesota, southern Ohio, a bit of Cleveland, and our often successful of poaching Michigan. Then, with dashes of Texas, California, Florida, and an increasing mid-Atlantic presence, we should hang tough. If we got just ONE superior football player out of each of those areas per year that would be half a class --- I think that Kelly will get at least two in the average year. There is a lot of talent out there, and we work hard to get it to come to ND --- "if only they all had their Spanish classes passed..." {italics intended}.

Notre Dame needs to gain ground in Virginia and North Carolina. It can't be stressed enough. There are some gems to be found that are choosing places like UNC and Va Tech.

Yup. I've been on this train for years. It's how Virginia Tech was a 10-win teams every single year for like a decade despite never having "good" recruiting classes.

The Carolinas and Virginia are better scouted now than they used to be (especially Virginia Beach/Norfolk area) but there's still tons of talent that flies under the radar.

Exactly. Virginia Tech has had 21 consecutive winning seasons and you never hear about their recruits.

initially I thought the Harbaugh talk was crazy. Lot's of signs now that there is a very good chance this is happening.

I don't see this affecting ND at all. I saw some people on here saying this is bad for ND. Don't see it. We're off each others schedule and Michigan was still recruiting at a high level under Brady Hoke.

This is bad news for Urban Meyer and Ohio State. Jim Harbaugh will eat him for lunch once he gets rolling the same way Saban did once he got rolling at BAMA.

There is a 24/7 report about DJ Durkin holding on accepting TAM DC position to see what Harbaugh does. Dirkin was at Stanford with Harbaugh right?

One of our posters at II is a former NFL scout who now writes for National Football Post. He said today from talking to people around the league the consensus was Harbaugh's preference is to stay in the NFL with more control than he's had in SF. The main reason Michigan is mentioned is because of the money they have offered. He said in order of Harbaugh's preferred jobs it would be: 1. Raiders 2. Jets 3. Michigan. And it's no secret Mark Davis, who is a long time friend of Harbaughs, will give him control in Oakland. BTW John Harbaugh refuted today the talk about the whole Harbaugh family trying to sway Jim to Michigan. Say it was completely false and he has no idea how that got started.

Not good you dorks. (Merry Xmas.)

It severely hurts recruiting. Severely.

This.
I refute that logic that college football needs a good Michigan team as well. People say that kind of stuff all the time, but it's just BS. College football doesn't need any particular team to be good. Not ND, not 'Bama, not tOSU, not USC, and certainly not Michigan. College football will do fine each year no matter who the powerhouses are. College football rolled on just fine when we were on our bowl game losing skid and dropping games to USC for 10 straight years, so there's no reason Michigan needs to be good.

Harbaugh to Michigan will likely improve their recruiting, which is bad for us (Even if we're not playing them). It will likely improve their win/loss record, which hurts our chances of holding onto the winningest program title again. Harbaugh to Michigan will likely be a good thing for them, unless his ego rubs the school the wrong way like it did the 49ers. We've been enjoying a golden age in football where both USC and Michigan have been playing crappy, it's rare that happens. With sanctions being in the dust for the Trojans, and the Wolverines likely getting a better coach than Hoke, both teams will be on the rise again...and the only thing that's equally annoying as a good USC team is a good scUM team.

I'd take Meyer over Harbaugh any day of the week.

No kidding! Easy for a rotten Skunkbear like Danford to make claims like that. Completely disregarding Urban Meyer's multiple national titles and .843 winning percentage. Compared to Harbaugh's zero titles and .580 winning percentage.

There's really no comparison, imo. Harbaugh is a "could be great", Urban Meyer is "great".

that's your like, opinion man.

I'd take Jim Harbaugh, and not even have to think twice about it. What the guy did at San Diego without scholarhsips, then what he did at Stanford, and then what he did in the NFL taking over a pathetic 49ers franchise....unreal. The guy is a hell of a coach.

How's that better than what Urban did at Utah and Florida? Nobody's saying Harbaugh isn't a great football coach, but I don't see how you can objectively say he's better than Meyer. I highly doubt Urban is scared of Harbaugh; it's much more likely that he's looking forward to beating Michigan's ass year after year regardless of who's coaching in that shithole.
