lol American Samoa is a US territory. Nevertheless coach's can recruit kids from all over the world, they don't just have to be North Americans

The tweet just said "Samoa" so I assumed it was the country of Samoa, not American Samoa.

I agree. I actually get kind of bored playing them every year, especially since lately they have not been the power they had been in the 90's. I would rather see us play against a team we don't normally get to play. I might be weird but I was actually a little relieved when they announced that the rivalry had been suspended.

3 8-5 seasons, 9-4, 10-3, 12-1 -ND

7-6,11-2,8-5,7-6,5-7, 10-3--mich

"is remotely interesting to me. I mean, I get that they suck and if it a close game that means this season is not panning out the way we hoped, but there have been some memorable games between the two teams in the past. It also reminds me of 1997 as that Colorado game is when I recognized that I was watching a different kind of Michigan team."

tOSU fans usually have the same thing on their profiles, just directed toward Michigan. Guess that means both have saliva problems.

Forget all the BS from internet ND fans, forget that it adds another uneeded hurdle to get to the playoffs/NC.

I grew up in Michigan City, IN, a predominantly Catholic city 40 minutes from campus and the only thing bigger than the yearly ND - Michigan game was the two local high schools playing in the sectional championship. Everybody was somewhere with their friends and enemies watching that football game to see who had bragging rights for the next 12 months.

I want it back on the schedule.

Thought only prisoners lived Michigan City. ;)

I'm sure they will be back on the schedule soon enough...it is always a great game and had me SO MAD (I mean f-cking hot) when we lost to them. Especially in the early BK years. Something about seeing that fat, mustard stain bastard celebrate on the other sideline pissed me really off.

Plus I'm sure Michigan fans aren't too proud (sarcasm) of playing the WORST schedule in the country. Maybe second worst or something like that...all the same. They need to play somebody.......

It's an interesting place. POOR westsiders next to the prison and the most expensive real estate (per sq,) in Indiana just 3 miles away in Long Beach. I actually lived out in the Township and had a LaPorte address. You were a baseball player if I remember so you know what that means. Coach Schreiber is a fellow MC & Valpo U alum.

We played Valpo every year. Unfortunately, for some reason, it was the one D1 we didn't have our way with. Probably b/c it was always in the heart of the season and we saved pitching for conference games.

Badass NAIA team out of Fort Wayne...went to college for four years, played in four NAIA world series (Lewiston, ID of all places). NDCrusader taking me down memory lane...

I wouldn't mind a home & home once a decade or two; but we don't need them every year - it is nice having games with Texas, ASU, Oklahoma, Georgia, and other power teams in recruiting areas.

Sorry you didn't have much luck at Emory Bauer Field against Coach Twenge and the boys, I used to live in the cage at VU, Ron Kittle from the White Sox was Twenge's assistant when I was in school, he was also our nextdoor neighbor when i lived in Gary as a little kid. You guys were a force back at the turn of the century. Didn't you guys go for like a decade straight? I had friends associated with Purdue North Central baseball during your time.

Welcome to the old guys club and remember... Keep them punk kids off your lawn!

Yup. I don't mind playing them twice in a ten year span. I do absolutely mind having them be a static, yearly game like USC. That's a horrible idea and should never happen.

What will probably end up happen is switching them every other year with MSU...maybe.

I feel like our best case scenario is to simply rotate home-and-home with B1G teams. Play Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State/Wisconsin/Indiana/whoever over the course of a decade and that's fine... but if we start loading up with B1G teams AND play USC/Stanford/Navy AND 5 ACC teams then 10 games spoken for off the bat which means the other two have to be walkovers of some sort... which means you're not getting fun games against Oklahoma or Texas or Shamrock Series or whatever. So you can't really afford to consistently schedule 2+ B1G games a year, which means we sure as hell better not consistently play Michigan over Purdue/MSU as a recurring opponent if we have one.

That is a good point. Schedule 1 B10 school every year (home and home)...make those the two Michigan schools. I personally don't want to play anyone else in the B10.

BARF ALERT:

Big 12 Expansion not-Q&A: The Case for Michigan - Bring On The Cats

Delusional fan base is delusional?

loved the tricky wording of this part:

No school has a higher winning percentage in conference than Michigan, and no school in any conference has a higher winning percentage in the history of college football than Michigan.

Qualifier of in any conference, thus the failure to acknowledge an independent school that tore off their heads and shat down their necks in their most recent meeting.
