tOSU had the goods to fire both of them for cause and didn't. And this was them doing their own investigation. Barring a major NCAA violation or players committing serious felonies, UM will be at tOSU as long as he wants. Smith is probably retiring in 16 months or so when his contract runs out.
To be clear, I don’t think Meyer will be fired, at least not officially (unless it’s something really bad). There are like 32 million reasons for that. But any trust/goodwill/benefit of the doubt was just burned up. So the next time things get hard, as they always do eventually, it’ll be “better for all involved” if he moves on.
