Can't beat Schmidt's in German Village.

I never went to Rodizio when I lived in Columbus. But I understand it is the same concept as Brasa, in Cleveland. If so, then it will beat ANY normal steakhouse out there. The concept is that severs bring different types of meat to your table, on skewers, and you can choose if you want them to shave you off a piece or not. The meats generally include, but are not limited to: rack of lamb, parmesan encrusted sirloin, bacon wrapped filet mignon, etc. It is all you can eat, as well. Phenomenal concept and great place to go with the boys.

Though he entered Columbus an early enrollee with high hopes, Jamel Dean's Ohio State career sounds like it unfortunately will end before it ever really gets a chance to start.

As first reported by 11W, Dean was unable to get clearance from OSU's medical team and will subsequently leave the program to attempt to stick somewhere else. Per Bucknuts, to add to the strangeness behind the abrupt, early departure, Dean was "cleared by external doctors and that they believe he will be able to play college football".

Dean entered Ohio State as a 247Sports composite four-star. He graded out as the 32nd ranked corner in the 2015 class, the 50th ranked player from the state of Florida, and the 339th overall player in his class. Best of luck to the young man on whatever's next.

Wow, we've seen "medical" dismissals at other programs in the past, but usually it's an upperclassman that hasn't lived up to hype. This kid has only been on campus for spring drills, he's an early enrollee. It's still a bit fishy that external doctors cleared him for college ball, but OSU's staff would not. You would think OSU's staff would be the more lenient of the two. Something very odd going on here.

But he said the only option at Ohio State was a medical hardship to end Dean's playing career but remain on scholarship. In that case, the scholarship does not count against the team's scholarship limit of 85.

"They're saying they're going to honor his scholarship, but honoring his scholarship doesn't allow him to play the game he loves to play," Wilkinson said. "It's all ridiculous and I don't appreciate them treating my kid this way.

"I'm sticking up for my kid. He was committed to them, but yet they're not fully committed to him."

The Buckeyes must be down to 85 scholarship players by the start of the season. They entered spring football at what looked like 88 scholarship players.

What high school did this kid attend? Doesn't look like they will be getting much recruiting help from this coach in the future. Here's hoping it is a pipeline school that just sprung a huge link. I detest Urban Meyer!

edit: nvm ... just saw he went to Cocoa HS in the posted article a couple posts up.

Urban has given out 11 medical hardships in the past three years. This is pretty comparable to what Saban did in his first three years at Bama which resulted in various articles about the practice in the Wall St. Journal and other mags.

By way of comparison, Tressel gave out 4 medical hardships during his ten years at pOSU.

He basically tried to bully Rod Smith into transferring by saying you are obviously not good enough to be on this team and you should transfer someplace where you can play.

Seems to be a methodical approach at trying to get as many people to come to pOSU as possible, seperate the wheat from the chaff and then get those that don't perform to either transfer or declare them a medical hardship.

This guy is as dirty as they come, and far to many pOSU fans are justifying his actions.

Obviously this appendix story is a fabrication, so that Urban could place a call to Nick Bosa at the moment that supposed surgery was taking place. That way he could tell Bosa that he wanted him so bad that he called him during the middle of the "surgery".

Creative and fanciful. Thoroughly enjoyable.

(Even an appendectomy performed laparoscopically require an over night stay. In fact, most patients are required to keep off their feet for 12 hours afterward. And in most cases IV antibiotics are administered after diagnosis, before surgery.)

Dang! It's worse than I thought.

I would have thought that such a kind, caring, family, health and earth conscious man would use public transportation. Or carpool at the very least.

Walking is recommended for heart health.

Some of the stories I've heard about football players at OSU and partying are pretty incredible. Having experienced it as well, everything I have heard was confirmed in one night. Lol. It really is a different atmosphere down in Columbus compared to South Bend. Not saying our players don't go out and party, but I doubt they are as crazy as players at OSU.
