Just going by memory, ChadTough is a UofM foundation for Chad Carr, Lloyd’s grandson (I have no idea if it’s CJ’s brother). Chad had a brain tumor and it was the football team’s motivation for an entire season.

Lots of money donated to the cause from alumni and fans alike.

Edit: Quick Google search comes up that Chad and CJ were brothers.
Hold up!!! I barely follow recruiting anymore and my sole focus was Moore for obvious reasons,…

CJ is Lloyd’s grandson!?!?

This is delicious.

Not only that, his maternal gradfather played at UofM, his dad was a QB at Michigan, his mom is a Michigan grad, he lives 5 minutes from Michigan, he has been a huge Michigan fan his entire life, UofM raised tons of money for his brother that died from brain cancer. I am lost myself in this one. I’m ecstatic to have him, but utterly confused how we are landing Carr and not Dante or Sayin. Life’s a mystery I guess.

I think it’s a classic case of a kid wanting to cut his own path. Hell, I get it, trust me. So many expectations, pressure, annoyances, boredom. Go be your own man. Get the hell away from your family and ridiculous friends. Try and go bigger than what people thought all along. ND likely makes him feel like he did more than what people expected of him. And he’s not wrong in that regard. And I think fate will play it’s cards in his favor. A kid that lost a brother to brain cancer is more deserving of a Hesman and national championship than just anyone I can think of. For very personal reasons, I’m an even bigger CJ Carr fan now.

Michigan sucks and Harbaugh is a weirdo that wants to bolt for the NFL asap.

I don't think it's that hard to understand.

Going back to the reclassifying discussion.

I think I like the idea of him staying in the 2024 class more than reclassifying. If Buchner is what the staff expects him to be, Carr would just be wasting a year of eligibility. Also, I hate that I have to think of this, it would allow for doubt/frustration to grow on Carr if he doesn't play as early as he would like.

Of course, I would be all of Carr in 23 and Sayin in 24. If that isn't that case, I'd like for Carr to stay in the 2024 class.
If Carr needs 5 years in college chances are we have moved on to Sayin or some guy in the 2025 class.

How do you post a video from camera roll? Cooper Petagna from 247 had a great sound bite today on CJ.

He said something to the effect of let me tell you the kid can spin, but what I like is CJ is that dude. You can see it this kid has that shit to him, bounces around, teeters on that confident/cocky line.

On the CJ re-class. Christian at ISD said that a source who would definitely know about the situation firmly shot it down.

That stinks. Let’s hope they can regroup and get a dude for ‘23.

Put up or shut up time for Tommy. We want to close the gap then we need a solid QB prospect in just about every class.

While getting someone with all of these ties is surprising, it’s absolutely NOT surprising that Michigan is struggling to recruit. They don’t have a developed NIL program* and they have a wholly unlikable, toxic coach who tried to quit on his team -> didn’t get the job -> lost both of his coordinators with one of them trashing the school/admins to his players via a super classy group text message on the way out the door. Behind the scenes, everyone is telling everyone that you can’t trust Michigan. And Harbaugh seemingly doesn’t give a shit about recruiting at the moment because he knows he’s not going to end up coaching any of these guys.

Ivins for 247 also said Carr went up to him and Loy at the Army All American Underclassman combine before it started and said I’m gonna win Alpha Dog today and then of course did win it.

I know it's been said in many different ways but I just have to step back and reflect on this: how bad does it have to be at Michigan for the grandson of a former football coach and son of a former QB at that school, to not go there? Crazy.

The relationship to a coach is certainly different, but let's not forget that BK whiffed on legacies too. Mosley's kid is going g to be fun to track for Freeman.
