“Reflecting, it seems is if I was always looking for a reason to branch and breakaway from home.”

In the end, the Top 5 each is the last two years hasn’t changed at all. The three most successful teams, someone who decides this is the year in NIL and hope eternal Texas. ND isn’t landing a Top 5 class anytime soon. The question is only if Freeman can keep us in 6 - 10 consistently, which BK couldn’t and MOST teams cannot stay there consistently. Have you heard much about Clemson this year in recruiting? Besides Vizzina and Hanafin overlap? Not really. But there they are at 11 and 10 last year. Their bad years still land them around 10 in recruiting because of Dabo. BKs bad years were much lower. Freeman is closer to Dabo than BK. As it’s been, Clemson has to be the model. Clemson recruits a base roster of talent at a high level, maintains high culture (and as a result retains talent) and the QB gets them in, or in this case keeps them out of the CFP.
Then there’s just the menial task of stacking generational QBs back to back to back and you have yourself a championship caliber roster.

Part of me wants to sink into a ND Football depression & accept that after the next few years (because our current roster & incoming class are strong) we likely won’t sniff a top 5 class & may even struggle with 10 as more schools decide to bend the rules.

The other part of me is hopeful it will get so scandalous that someone will be forced to step in & control it., 🤷‍♂️

And a tiny part of me wants ND to flex their endowment & buy top 3 classes every year but I know that’s a pipe dream.

Fuck that, the Administration needs to play ball. Clemson from 2018 is the model, but not modern Clemson, they’re on the decline.

Good to see Bowen acknowledge his mistakes from yesterday. Hope he does well and then I hope J. Haynes bulldozes his as* in a couple years when he makes it to the SEC.

Good of him to acknowledge and apologize for yesterday
That was a classy and mature statement all around, really.

It's too bad, but some kids are more comfortable closer to home. he probably would've been at Oklahoma in the end regardless. I just hope Lanning chokes on his stupid cigar.

I think this was going to happen if he signed with ND as well - could have taken a day, could have taken a year. He was always going to be at OU. Good luck to him, Keeley stung way worse imo, this was just weird AF

Of course not. Back then, If you talked back to mommy or daddy you got the belt. Today you touch your kid you go to jail.
Kids know what they can get away with.
Not my kids. I’ve already offered to drop them off to the group home if they choose that over the punishment.

At what point does freeman take on Kelly’s approach to recruiting? He wasted a lot of time on Bowen. Just target the right guys.

Never, unless he decides to have a career arc where he adds a Dukes Mayo Bowl trophy next to BK’s Citrus, Pinstripe, Camping World, Music City, and Sun Bowl one to complete the look.
