#9 is #9. If this is a historically great class and #9 is our prize I think that just means the top is getting more top heavy and really nothing has changed at the top. We are just creating more separation from the bottom and middle. Congrats to ND for now getting players that will beat Marshall and Stanford. But as fans of the football team and being stuck in that 5 to 20 ranking range some of us want better. We HAD a class that was building up to do that. Keeley, Bowen, even someone like Edwards that could flip field position with a single touch increases those odds and increases NDs floor and ceiling. I apologize if I’m not a guy that loses and celebrates that I can still wake up in the morning. If you would have told any ND fan that follows recruiting 6 months ago that ND would finish 9th in the recruiting rankings they would have laughed at you. The expectations were higher and we got more of the same. Yay!!
They were 46 points off #1 in 2023, 58 in 2022, 56 in 2021, 62 in 2020. The BCR ratio has also steadily improved.
There was a marketable improvement in talent acquired in 2023. They did not have a QB for the majority of the class. They have one in 2024.
The first full year of MF we saw a 12 point improvement in the talent level. With a QB actively recruiting for the 24 class we should see another improved class.
You're also not the guy that can take a step back and look at the incredible improvement that MF has done in recruiting. NIL became a factor and he still improved the talent at ND. This is after an 8-4 season. You can be miserable and cry about the misses, but you can not deny that MF has been a significant improvement on Kelly in recruiting.
