next update will be “ND bows out of Bowen sweepstakes,” regardless if if it was NDs choice or Bowen’s.

I’m fine either way tbh. More important here is the clear lack of guidance for Bowen. If he is truly this conflicted to the point of making an impulsive last second decision to back out on a pledge he made 11 months prior then he needs to be guided better by both parents. If this is a money grab I would argue all parties need to some guidance but that’s a difference of opinions on goals. It is one of a parents’ main job to impart values and beliefs to guide their child’s decisions to become a better adult. If, as is implied, he made a poor choice in the most important moment of his young life then I’d argue there’s a failure in this job.

I want to find out why OK hat wasn't on the table yesterday, but now this?

Something pretty crazy must have changed - or he was OK all along and this the greatest PR troll attention shit I've ever seen.
Maybe it was the only compromise he could strike up with mom and dad.

I don't think it's that crazy. Either the Oregon $ didn't pan out as they thought or he made too many people with him angry by that choice. The way he did ND dirty burned that bridge, but he didn't do OU as dirty since their hat was never displayed.
Not displaying the hat (eliminating them) when they believed (Jackson Arnold and staff) they were getting him...
How is that not dirty and disrespectful to them?

Based on what? Being slightly immature and indecisive? There’s nothing that indicates he’s an issue off the field.
Slightly immature is when you drag ND along then flip to OU. Not this BS he is pulling. This kid is showing that he is more than slightly immature and possibility narcissistic where it's all about me. That doesn't bold well in a locker room like ND's.

Fair point. I guess I should say he wasn't as disrespectful.

I don’t think he’s lying. I think he legitimately wants to go to each school for different reasons and is clearly being pulled in a million different directions behind the scenes.
He was on a Tuesday night call with the other recruits telling everyone he was signing with ND.

He called ND and said he wants to be a part of the class after the shenanigans.

Then he called OU and said he wants to be a part of the class after the shenanigans.

He primadonna'd the whole GD thing but you don't think he's lying? Interesting conclusion.

OU expects announcement soon.

Pray to god for his sake it’s just a tweet at most. An actual ceremony in any fashion would be an embarrassment.

Girlfriend beats mom and dad in the end, would not **** with her Peyton.

He’s going to end up signing with OU because they weren’t disrespected (he was NEVER a commit to them nor did he ever lie to them on the level he did ND) and because they’ll provide some money. The easiest read on this whole situation is that he was making an NIL focused decision (either because that’s what he wants or his dad wants or both) but Oregon never actually had the “$2 million” set up. I would imagine Oklahoma is further along with the paperwork and will get a deal with their collective signed today for a more reasonable number.

Oklahoma is the “easy” choice that is more palatable to everyone. And no way Freeman is bending over backwards to sign a cancer right now. It wouldn’t be smart. He burned a LOT of bridges the past 24 hours and he’s just a safety.

It sounds like he can’t tell people no.

No, it shows he’s 17/18 yrs old and not a great decision maker. People are acting like he’s a bad kid bc of this, it’s absurd

He reached out to ND. Not the other way around. He committed to Oregon and then was instantly proactively calling up other places to say he wanted to come there hours later. That’s not being not being able to say no, he’s proactively jerking ND around. It’s not like ND was banging on his door last night.

He might very well believe it in the moment when he says it.

This doesn’t strike me as the product of a calculated strategy.
Hmmmm. I don't usually have to do such mental gymnastics when assessing someone's behavior.

In your mind, he's telling the truth in the moment and then changing his mind and this occurs repeatedly over the course of 24 hrs. Lies to ND, commits to Oregon (prior to that he lied to OU staff). Then after commitment he calls ND and OU and both weren't calculated strategy, he was just impulsively wanting to be a part of their classes and now he's finally settled on OU.

To me, he's a habitual liar and pleaser who would very likely test high in narcissism. He's incapable of saying no because he's worried about how people will judge him in the moment so instead he convinces himself in the moment despite knowing he's lying.

I think I live in a more concrete world than you do Pops but each of us is free to live in the world we choose.

I keep coming back to this.
