No, it shows he’s 17/18 yrs old and not a great decision maker. People are acting like he’s a bad kid bc of this, it’s absurd
It shows his parents are knuckleheads. Zero percent chance I would let my son act that way. Do your due diligence, be upfront, make a decision, honor your word. This isn't rocket science. It's the adults that keep turning college football into a shitshow.

Here’s some more armchair psychology, since everyone here seems to love it so much:

The reason why it’s always dads/uncles pushing this kind of stuff is generally because they were losers who didn’t amount to much and are trying to live vicariously through their kid/nephew. Most of them never got wined and dined and fawned after by major colleges. So they insert themselves in the process and the main way they demonstrate “value” is by trying to “look out for them” with regard to $$.

Moms tend to like ND because of the big picture, academically prestigious angle ND is selling. They aren’t trying to turn back the clock to when they were in high school and relive their youth but this time as a star athlete. They want their kid to make responsible decisions.

Uncles think they’re Jerry McGuire.

Saving face by not going with the school he stood up at the alter. I think if he picks ND yesterday he signs and it’s over. Now he can’t because he can’t be humble and admit he fucked up.
It’s this, but also that Oklahoma is offering a good amount of NIL money and the check isn’t coming from Oregon.

Problem is there just isn’t any close to elite safeties in 2024 that ND is leading for or any showing interest in us

I mean, Peyton Woodyard has been on campus a number of times? Also got some predictions in for him to land at ND. I know he's faded, but still the point that no one is showing interest is.....laughable (and that's been charitable).

He's committing soon and it's not to ND.

Loy said on that Twitter livestream deal he thinks he's going to end up at USC.

Tae Johnson and I believe personally Gabriel Williams is an elite “safety” prospect

Singleton and Matthews mention ND but I doubt that comes to fruition

THIS. Coached 8u-12u little league baseball and it was HORRIBLE. It’s rampant throughout all youth sports right now.

Here is more psychology. (Not armchair since I’m an actual licensed social worker). A moms identity is a mom, their worth and value is raising good kids to be good adults. A dads worth and value was maybe once the same but after years of stress of trying to provide his identity and personality evolved into trying to be good at making money. These personality adaptions lead men to be really good at their jobs to detriment of their family… being gone too much, taking work trips, taking a second job. Some men can work from 5am to 10pm and think they are are a great father. A great “provider” maybe but an absent father. So when the father see a gravy train, even if it’s short sited, they are more apt to take it. They are more worried about relieving their stress as a provider thinking this will benefit his life to things he could be doing if he wasn’t working so hard or so much.

Aware, that's why I said he faded. But the point is elite safety's have shown interest in ND, the doom and gloom about there being no interest is sad. I know better than to bet against MF in recruiting. MF expands the recruiting board, when he doesn't get his #1 he atleast gets a decent replacement.

There aren't any Jay Brunelle's in his classes.

Interest is all ND will get with a lot of these top recruits. Money talks, then the recruit walks.

the only one i'd have proper doubts about is Zinter, i think hes a ST only player. I don't like hes mobile or flexible enough to play LB. Maybe he can do something as a Vyper but thats not really a fit for him either.
