Their composite scores were

Buchner .9684, 11th best QB
Johnson .9457, 9th best QB

Pretty damn close. AJ > TB at camps. TB > AJ in # yards passing. TB also was not handing the ball off to Dylan Edwards and likely had more passing attempts/opportunities.
I don’t know about the AJ>TB at camps part.
TB was the MVP at a couple camps. People concentrate on the Elite 11 Finals only, but Tyler was great at other camps before that.

Once again, payback for 2012. They win the Big12, we win the National Championship. They choked, we got Bama.
Still keeps me up at night sometimes. I can vividly remember driving home from the Wake game my now wife was celebrating because we were going to be #1. I already knew what it meant though.

How about if the OSU players didn't sell their memorabilia for tattoos? We were a tattoo parlor away from playing OSU, and I believe we would've won that game. We have a chance to get payback against them, too.

ISD Intel | Behind The Scenes of Notre Dame Recruiting -- very worth reading. One direct quote:

Right now, we’re going to K-State, but the Irish have reached out to us and been very professional and very courteous and respectful of K-State. They haven’t said anything bad about K-State or anything like that. We are listening to them and talking to them on a regular basis. We’ll continue to talk to them until either they get a quarterback or we make a decision to stick with K-State or change.

So they are certainly considering a flip. This is the kind of content that I recommend subscribing to ISD for. No sizzle, direct information from good sources.

Wouldn’t Notre Dame be the best route for Avery Johnson to make it to the NFL regardless of what position he plays? Reason being that if he’s not an elite quarterback he’s still probably going to be the quarterback at Kansas State and just won’t get drafted. If he is an elite quarterback, NFL capable, he will play at Notre Dame and beat out CJ. If he is not an elite quarterback, he will get switched to a position like wide receiver and excel at Notre Dame where he likely would never end up in that position at Kansas State. in other words, the best thing for his future in every sense is Notre Dame. he’s not a Drew Pyne type that is pigeonhold to back up quarterback to where it’s elite QB or bust. if Avery ends up just a mediocre starting quarterback at Kansas State he may never meet his true potential. even if he is a good one he’ll never reach it as a quarterback without elite talent to throw the ball to. If he were my kid I’d be pushing him towards a bigger program so he can maximize his potential through a variety of avenues.

His film reminds me of Everett somewhat
Golson? When was the last time you watched his highlights?

I was certain Golson was going to be our QB who led us to a title. His ability to anticipate throws and put the ball downfield were incredible. He was slippery when he got moving but his downfield game was on point.

I'd like to have Avery in this class but he doesn't remind me of Golson. He's more athletic and less capable as a thrower (at this stage). But one thing I do agree with, they both carry the football like a loaf of bread when they take off running.

I just really like this kid. I don't see a single concern. All I see is a great arm and great athleticism.

He has terrible accuracy concerns lol. But he's got a high ceiling if he can get those addressed.

OMG did you see that bootleg run up the middle for 95+ yards? That opposing team must have wanted to quit after that!!
I think Everett Golson, based on his HS Highlights, was one of the most under-performing QB's ND has had. I loved that kids HS tapes.

In terms of Avery Johnson, is he really looking around or is this all smoke being blown up our arses??

I don't think that's a big concern. NFL scouts evaluate the talent and not where they played. They miss some kids, but they find more diamonds in the rough more times that not.

If he's good enough the NFL will find him. Path to the NFL is over-rated. Now preparation for the NFL has some merit, but it's not like KSU is FCS or even Group of 5.
