I mean, I'm still concerned with Lamar's accuracy.
I'm not concerned about that athleticism, especially at the college level.
Hugemungess ceiling

If you go back a few months you will see that all you JERKS thought I was an idiot (ok youre mostly right) for saying I wanted Avery bad. I'm going to pump my own tires here and say I was on him before most of you CLOWNS....

You're not jerks or clowns, most of you anyway.

In all seriousness, is there any word that Avery is wavering in his commitment?

Could be wrong, but I think this all comes down to some inference Mike Singer made about ND being in on some QBs already committed. I think folks are connecting the dots and it's leading here. This could be right or it could be wrong, but it's Mike Singer, so more likely wrong than right.

Speculating the speculation seems like no room for error. Avery to ND confirmed

It’s had passing mentions elsewhere, and put into article today:

No, his gf is heading to kstate
Spot on. And if you were him, would you accept an offer from a school that was your plan D? At some point, you just have to say no. I can image him asking why so late? The truth would be "Well we went after Moore, Arnold, Vizzina, Minchy and a few others and they all refused, so now we are asking you"

Absolutely cannot fathom someone picking their school based on a high school sweetheart. That just seems so incredibly foolish to me.
Wasnt this the Aaron Lynch situation? Or was it something else?

More foolish than accepting an offer from a university that he knows was his plan D, or E or whatever?

Everyone is intimidated by CJ Carr. It’s uncommon to land a QB so early of his caliber. Had he not committed so early, we’d likely already have someone. It’s a good problem, but still a problem none the less.

That may be true, but yet we see:

-Clemson landing back-to-back 5* QB's
-Bama getting a 5* in 2022 and 2 top 10 QB's in 2023
-OSU got 4 QB's who were ranked in the top 43 overall nationally, from 2020-2022
-Oregon landed Dante Moore and are heavy favorites to land the 7th ranked QB in the 2024 class
-UGA landed a 5* QB in 2021 and a top 7 QB in 2022

It's incredibly frustrating

It is. It's just another example of Notre Dame not being in the top echelon.

I think you’re going to be frustrated a lot if you compare us to 4 of the last 5 national champions, multiple of which are cheating.

ND needs Buchner and/or Carr to perform on the field. Just as Clemson did.

But my point is why are QB's allegedly scared of CJ Carr yet those schools continue to, or are on the verge of, bringing in top 10 QB after top 10 QB? Are those kids not scared?

I don’t agree with the statement of scared (didn’t see it tbh), I also just think you’re bound to be frustrated comparing to Bama as your benchmark.

I like Avery Johnson’s upside at WR as much or more than Ronan Hanafin. He’s a win win recruit. I also think he’s at least as talented at QB as Buchner. If he’s not a future NFL QB at KState he might blow his career at QB. At ND if he competes and wins the job at QB, that means he has NFL potential. If not, he doesn’t and he was better at WR. ND benefits his future more than KState.

Once again, payback for 2012. They win the Big12, we win the National Championship. They choked, we got Bama.

Fucking Baylor.

I loved that team, too. But as it turned out, they were lead by a despicable human being for a head coach, and ruined ND's shot at a national title.

Te'o would have teed off on Colin Klein, catfish situation or not.

Their composite scores were

Buchner .9684, 11th best QB
Johnson .9457, 9th best QB

Pretty damn close. AJ > TB at camps. TB > AJ in # yards passing. TB also was not handing the ball off to Dylan Edwards and likely had more passing attempts/opportunities.

AJ and Dylan don’t attend the same high school.

AJ was handing the ball off to Dylan in 7v7, But AJ goes to Maize and Dylan goes to Derby.
