Using Devyn Food as an example is moving the goal post. Running back is stacked...understood. But he's 4th on the depth chart (3rd? 5th?).I’ve learned to not put anything past this staff, when it comes to roster improvement/management. There isn’t any “settling”, which I think we saw a lot of that in the last regime.
Example, did ND absolutely need Devyn Ford after Diggs left? Probably not, they still had four good RBs. This staff doesn’t leave a stone unturned. Are they guaranteed to get a WR? No, but I definitely think they’ll be shopping.
I understand bringing in a WR who can improve the talent pool .... I'm all in. But having that WR being "a no brainer starter" over the incumbents is where I'm having trouble. Could they bring in #4 from OSU/USC/OR who saw limited action and he be number 1 or 2? Sure, but I think that's not "no brainer starter"
I think we are closer to agreeing than not.
