Obviously they did a good job with DT recruiting in previous classes but we needed the length and size of the 20’ and 21’ DT’s.

Dang, Rubio and Ade are only gonna have 1 year to play together. And the classes between them are also full of good prospects. DT recruiting has come a long way since 2015

Big fan of Mr. Rubio's. I think he's going to be quite the player while at ND. I like what Elston is putting together along the DL.

66. IDL Gabriel Rubio / Saint Peters, Mo. (Lutheran) -- Notre Dame

Of the 75 who have verbally committed, Ohio State has secured the most, with 10. The Buckeyes are followed by Alabama (8), Clemson (6), Georgia (5), and Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee (4 each).

Guy like him drives OC's crazy. Having a guy that physical and that tall plugging holes and pushing the pocket makes for a long day.

Love the mentality.

My mindset shifted from stars and rankings to fighting for a starting position at the college level long ago. If I haven't made it clear. I'm a HUGE fan of Gabe's. Dude is going to be a stud at ND. It's pretty unreal to think that in 3 years we'll have a Junior Rubio, Senior Mills and AK, possible 5th year Cross on the same DL. That depth will dominate collegiate offensive lines.

We interviewed Gabe Rubio last night, before he signs with the Irish today. He's a really cool dude and I think he's going to have a really good career at Notre Dame.

This kid doesn't get talked up enough. He is an absolute stud. Him, Riley Mills and company are going to be a handful down the road.

My favorite part of his game is how violent he is with his hands. Stud.

The guys that commit so early are often not appreciated as much as they should be. If he played the recruiting game, he’d have been recruited by everybody. He’s going to be fun to watch.

he committed so early that we almost forgot about him but Rubio and kollie are battling it out for top defensive player in the class. even after he committed to ND all the top programs kept recruiting him trying to see if he'd flip. I see him getting a lot of reps this fall in the DT rotation.

It'll certainly be interesting to follow. I think we're getting to that point at DT where even really good prospects might not get a lot of immediate PT. I think he'll get reps and be in the rotation but a lot of reps might be hard to come by. I mean, at NT you could have Hinish come back. But even if he doesn't he'd start behind Cross and Lacey. Both guys who the staff are really high on. At DT we return everybody in the rotation. So, MTA, Jayson A, and Mills. And that doesn't include AK at NT who immediately jumped Franklin in the rotation.

It's a good problem to have.

I’m a big fan of DLs and DEs that are good wrestlers in high school. This kid might be my favorite recruit of ours in this class.

I’m guessing scope.
Freeman said he was having something fixed or something along those words.
I’m curious if they will try to get him back for NC State or just rest him until OSU.

Defensive player knee injury vs Navy? Incredible. Has to be a mistake.

On another possibly related note, I believe that I witnessed a LOT of nervous foot skipping by our DTs at the snaps.
(especially true of our 99.)

Remember when Jaron Jones flat out refused to play against Navy cuz he was worried about getting cut blocked. Ha
