Good teams win. Great teams cover the 2nd half.Won the 2nd half 🤣
Dunno. Who’s coaching?Mark Zackery (Butler bball offer)
Tae Johnson (D1 bball offers)
Raridon (second team all-Iowa in HS)
Greathouse (key member of dominant Westlake bball team)
Matty Augustine (captain of Brunswick School bball team)
Ethan Long (All-New England basketball player)
Jadon Blair (all area/conference)
Micah Gilbert (varsity baller, dad played d1 bball)
Would this team beat the current MBB squad? (kidding but damn)

It's sad that they won't even sniff an NIT bracket for the third straight season. EmbarrassingIf things don’t get any better I don’t see how I can trust ND in my bracket
Abdominal strainNo young Shrews today. Any reason why?
They did against Georgetown way back in November...I feel like every game since then has been a nailbiter. Ironically that early road win in DC against the Hoyas made me think this might be a solid year...Lord, that last half minute was a slug through the mud. Thank the skies that the one fellow made every free throw.
And thanks that we had enough time outs to protect the baseline passer. ... uncomfortable times. Does this team ever "cruise"?
He's that streaky scorer that has him moments, but he doesn't seem like a starting caliber of player. We don't have enough fire power for this, but I think his role would be best served coming off of the bench to be that guy you look to score when a Burton or Davis take a break.I don't enjoy saying this, but I don't believe it should be lost that his son not playing in the best win in awhile doesn't seem ideal.
Braeden has always given off empty stats type of vibes to me whenever I watch him play, but he is the coaches kid some hopefully he can also improve going into year 3.
Yes, my thought as well has been he would be more useful coming off the bench in a score first mentality...but we don't have the talent for that right now. He's that streaky scorer that has him moments, but he doesn't seem like a starting caliber of player. There's no doubt that he' got a nice shooting stroke and a very quick release, but that's really it, and teams can take it away if he's too one dimensional. It also doesn't help that we're not really moving the ball very well, so he's not exactly getting a ton of open look, either.

A cynic would also say it is likely Shrews hasn't aggressively recruited through high school or through the portal his replacement, or equal since he wants his son to start and play 30+ minutes a night.
It's just always murky when its the coaches son, and he is by far not the best player on the team.
Also, I don't have any advanced defensive stats to back it up, but whenever I watch him out there on defense he is a huge liability.
The only stat I see is in his career at ND he has 69 turnovers to 31 steals. Far from ideal for a shooting guard.
If Mohammed develops and Haralson is as predicted BShrews becomes the 6th man next year (if no other starter leaves). In the context of of this year alone as I am not going to predict how he is going to develop, I think he's the perfect 6th man on a good ND team. He'd be able to provide a real offensive spark off the bench and situationally would still play a lot some games. When he's cold or if the matchup is more athletic, he'd play less. As y'all have said, unfortunately the talent just isn't there for this to be the case.
