Hoping for more improvement this year, and keep building on the end season momentum..they really were starting to click and play better at seasons end

Starting a new thread for the ten of us that may post about ND basketball. ha
10 is about right LOL. We oldsters remember when Digger had us in the top 10 every year and always in the mix for the elite recruits (who could read and write, anyway). If we had joined the Big East in the early 80's it would have made a big difference in preventing our demise into a non-elite.
Really not sure if Digger was the reason we didn't join or if it was the Administration. The fan base was very anti conference I do remember that.

Basketball is very much akin to baseball in that we have a number of bandwagon fans who (rightfully) hop on board when we’re competitive and are apathetic when we aren’t. Same with baseball. Unfortunately the end of the Brey era just absolutely killed any momentum we had in the mid-to-late 10s.

I’ll be here all year. My kids enjoy going to the games so we go to a couple men’s/women’s games every winter.

I anticipate much improvement from last year. Something we didn’t seem to achieve with Brey in his final years.

MBB currently in Spain sightseeing and playing a little ball. There’s a diary on UND.com with a bunch of pictures.
Doesn’t look like the big Ukrainian guy made the trip- not in any of the pictures

I'm starting to think ND needs to go all in on basketball because the football progrum is likely going to continue to struggle in the new landscape. I was disappointed we didn't get Dusty May after Brey, but willing to see if Shrews improves the team YoY. If it's worse, I'd like to see Bevacqua move quickly and over pay a superstar to build a progrum. It would be nice to see basketball making deep tourney runs to offset the football season pain.

I am excited to see where Shrews can grow with this program. He had some recruits on campus for last week's basketball game, unlike our prior coach he is recruiting in Indiana. I don't want to tell myself to have a successful season they need to make the big dance; I'd love that, but I'll go with get to the NIT.

A .500 season and good showing the ACC tournament would suffice, but year three has to be a NCAA tourney team. If Alabama can create a basketball progrum from nothing so can we!

Still no commitments for the 2025 class. Early signing day in October. Things need to happen soon.

That may actually change this week. Brady Koehler has a visit to Wake scheduled but some word he may decide before then.

I also feel like I’ve heard this before multiple times this cycle and they go elsewhere.

I hope Haralson and Koehler left ND immediately after the football game. Can't imagine campus was very fun after that game!

Koehler is announcing today. Looks good. IU got a CB recently for Trent Sisley, another in state kid we are after. Similar player to Koehler, higher rated. Sisley is slayted to visit ND this weekend along with two other guys who are inside post type players.

I would hope that a finish in the top half is possible, but I figure they'll end up around 11-13 out of 18 in the ACC. Guards should be good. Probably needs another year, so improvement this season and then a stronger push next year.

No clue why he transferred to Montverde if this was going to be the outcome anyway.

I don't think our roster is any better than last year's.

Boston College and Georgia Tech the 2 they play twice, no trip way out west in conference. That's not a bad set-up.

Apparently Haralson indicated that Ryder Frost, a top100 wing from Mass (Phillips Exeter) is joining him. Frost will announce tomorrow.
We could land a couple more. Could use a post player and two are visiting this weekend.
This will be a top 10-15 class.

Syracuse as well, we open the ACC slate with them on 12/7 then head to the Carrier Dome in January.

The nonconference schedule is strong this year! Houston, Alabama, Georgia, Georgetown and Rutgers? Quality. They'll be well-tested ahead of the new ACC slate.

Very strange seeing Cal, Stanford, SMU etc on the schedule. Go Irish!

Very much dislike it. More so Stanford and Cal. Would love to see them bolt back to the Pac-12...
