If we win out, which seems like a realistic possibility looking at our remaining schedule, I'd put money on us making it into the playoffs. We're ranked highly enough that we'll be sticking around the 7-10 range as the teams ahead start playing each other.

Much better performance than I was expecting. A little bit better play calling and a few less penalties and we take this one.

Is our schedule going to be strong enough? Stanford looks terrible, Michigan looks like they're going 8-4, USC may or may not be mediocre again, etc.

On that last play Book spun right into the pressure. Tony Jones was in a position to at least chip the d end coming off the edge and ride him to the outside. Banks and Eichenberg were also riding the d tackle to the outside. If Book steps up in the pocket and keeps his eyes down field he would have had a shot at hitting Finke coming across the middle for a 1st down.

...even if all that happened...the odds Fink runs clean...? Because tonight I think thats the only way that kid is catching that ball...he just didn't have it.

A few thoughts:

Our defense played tremendous football, especially in the first half. So much tackling.

Drew White is a ball player. And let’s stop whining about Bilal, shall we? The front seven was men tonight in general. They contained an RB who’s capable of scoring every time he touches the ball.

Credit to Jake Fromm. He completed like 85% of his passes and went at our best corner and beat him several times. Yet I’m not sure what more Pride could have done (but I wish we still had Julian Love).

I like our punter. I feel better about Doerer than I did. And we’ll miss Gunner Claypool when he’s gone.

Book was fine. He is who he is. We can win games with him, but he’s not an elite quarterback. I liked how he fought at the end though.

You want to blame someone for our lack of a running game? Blame Autry Denson (and maybe Kevin Stepherson for taking CJ Holmes on that ill-fated trip to Macy’s). Tony Jones is a fine second back but we just do not have the horses at RB. Doesn’t matter what plays you call.

Kmet and Claypool were the only guys on our offense who’d play at Georgia. Maybe Aaron Banks. And Kmet and Claypool were our entire offense tonight.

If Finke can’t make the tough catches I’m not sure why he’s out there. He didn’t tonight.

The O Line kept Book pretty clean but needs some work in the run game. And so many false starts.

After tonight and the way our schedule is shaping up, I predict the softest 11-1 in program history. It’s weird living in the bottom half of the top ten, but that’s where we are right now. It’s better than the old days but I’ve no idea how we get over this hump.

Proud, yet disappointed. Coaches needed to do a better job in the 3rd and we can't give up the football, yet this was a winnable game despite the pundits not giving us a chance.

-JOKer is a guy that as he gains experience and finds himself out of position less will be scary good.
- if you don’t have an elite QB then you better have stud skill guys, if not you better have an elite QB. We have neither yet hopefully we are getting there though.

SoS is overrated. The committee cares more about wins and losses and when they come.

That’s a legitimate point. He was pretty open when he came out of his break. The offense (coaches and players) did pretty much all they could collectively to loose this one. With that in mind I was pleasantly surprised ND had a shot to win there at the end.

At least we aren’t Michigan......lololololol

Or USC

Or UCLA

Or Stanford

The sky isn’t falling. We showed that we’re somewhere in the conversation and these other powerhouse programs (meh) are in a lot of turmoil. None makes me smile more than Michigan btw. They’re almost stuck because Hardpaw wins just enough to stay employed, but he’s a complete embarrassment in big games or as an underdog. Part of me wants him to remain there comfortably mediocre, but I kinda want a dude like Hoke back there. That’d be what they deserve

JOK is getting close to a sort of Jaylon-lite. A Walmart Jaylon if you will. Not quite as good but pretty close

JOK has a good night tonight. Also that kneel down on the “injury” was clutch.

Yeah. I think we’d be in that same “best loss” trap we were in in 2017. We’d need, like, USC to win the PAC 12 (but lose to us of course). Otherwise we’ll have no good wins.

Chris Finke is like playing 10 on 11. Worst actually as he gave the other team 7.

Forgive me while I vent,... I’m at a point where I keep seeing lesser programs running RPOs and having skills players that can take games completely over, making great calls on key downs, I see Fromm hitting multiple perfect NFL throws tonight and I can’t help but get frustrated. What the hell is preventing ND from doing any of these things under BK??

If we play with this energy the rest of our games then we roll.

Need a higher level RB. TJJ is a small fullback that doesn’t run as hard as one.

On our last TD Drive with our backs against the wall the offense and Book looked great. Book should have used his legs more to keep the D off balance but for some reason he didn’t. Zero designed runs by Book tonight or any misdirections, Book wasn’t awful but he wasn’t great and certainly not nearly as good as Fromm who didn’t miss a throw. Hope you like Book because no one is gonna draft him so he will be our starter again next year. I don’t see any player with another year of eligibility leaving early (I’m talking to you overhyped Okwara and Kareem). DBs played well. I was bothered by the yards afte4 contact with the RBs. While our D was much better than previous games I was still bothered on how Swift would turn a 2 yard game into 8.

Finke shouldn’t be a captain. He got a scholarship and more playing time than he should and should be a second string going forward.. he was involved in our two turnovers and 6 points. I know he has a ton of heart but so did Joe Schmidt so no thank you.

Kmet was awesome. Difference in the game was and our QB play and the Georgia running game and ours. Our RB depth is the weakest yet of the Kelly era.

Hopefully we can get some respect from ESPN and everyone else who didn’t give us a snowballs chance in hell to win this. Glad to see all those taking Georgia and giving points take gas.

One final note: Paul Finebaum and his monkey ears can eat a bag of D#icks!!!

Amen brother! I feel as though I see a dozen QBs playing every Saturday that can do things that ours can not and I’ve never heard of them. Don’t know how the RB cupboard got so bare. Not throwing the ball downfield in the first half and third quarter and final drive was too hard to watch. Enough of the dink and doing schitt.

Idk if it's just our recruiting limitations or what but it constantly feels like were in a ship that has too many holes for us to plug. No matter what as soon as we have one position figured out there are two more that pop up that it seems we haven't filled properly in 2 recruiting classes. Like how is our RB situation this bad? Shouldn't be possible. We wen't through a lul at TE and now that it looks like Cole is a monster we're starting Finke at WR??

Everyone has covered just about everything from the ND perspective. But if you look at what really made the difference tonight from a neutral view, Lawrence Carger (WR #15) won the game. Every fucking time UGA needed a big play, that dude made it.

He made the sideline catch on 3rd & 9 that led to the Swift TD to make it 7-7, otherwise UGA is kicking a 40-yd FG. Then he caught that deep ball on the first play of the 4th quarter, or else it would have been 3rd & 9 in their own territory. And then of course he makes the stupid good TD grab on 3rd & 7 or UGA is kicking a FG again.

Claypool and of course Kmet made some big-time plays, but Cager hit us with multiple daggers throughout the night. Players make plays. Full credit to UGA. It's just too bad that last drive ended up how it did, especially after getting the all-important first 1st down in just two plays. We had 1st & 10 at the UGA 40 with a victory in sight. *sigh* Maybe next time...

ND is now 1-19 against top 5 ranked teams. Good game but we have to do better than this record if we are to be taken seriously in the big games.

I was doubtful a 12 win ND would make the playoffs no way is 11-1.
Clemson, Bama or Georgia or LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma are all going 12-0.
Would not mind a bowl game against Texas.

You're a part of the problem with your battered fan syndrome.
Um, when exactly has ND given us a reason to not have "battered fan syndrome?" A handful of close road losses over BK's tenure and then some blowouts in championships/the playoffs don't exactly inspire confidence we can hang with the real elite of CFB. There's a reason the line 14.5 points, UGA is stronger and better in every aspect. I'm not really "proud" of the team. For what? For not getting blown out? Shouldn't the expectations be a bit higher a decade in to Kelly's tenure here? Or have we accepted that gosh darn it, we're just the plucky underdogs that occasionally are capable of losing by less than 10 points to elite teams?
