The thing I like the most about the TJ Watt pick is that he will forever be compared to his brother. Therefore, a flame will forever be lit under his ass and will work extremely hard every day. I hope he trains with his big bro in the off season.

In due time, Kizer will upstage all the QBs in this class. Book it.

I base this on nothing other than I am a Notre Dame fan.

Oh, and the Virginia TD pass to Will Fuller.

'We don't need a TE'

Lol... dafaq have you been??

We just resigned Barnidge last offseason and took Devalve in the 4th last year. Unless they are already throwing in the towel on Devalve this is an unnecessary pick.

Watson to Houston is the best pick of the night.... he's a serious RoY threat in that scenario... that's how you chase a QB, get everything in line THEN get your QB... Watson would fail and be out of the league if drafted by 60 plus percent of the league, he'll succeed there.

That's QBs guys, 99 percent of all of them are situational.

2017 NFL Draft

Ok, dust has cleared... explain to me wtf the bears were thinking??

The only reasonable explanation to do something so unreasonable is pretty simple:

1. Bears wanted Trubisky all along, and planned to take him at 3
2. Niners call and say "hey we got (insert team name) on the line, they are moving up, WYD?"
3. Bears panicked and outbid themselves for the guy they wanted

In a draft where your first 4 picks could easily be starters, the Bears pared that number of picks down to two, with one of them being a guy that won't play for 2-3 years. Brilliant!!!!

*The Mike Glennon signing, although stupid in itself, was a huge relief. We knew the Bears wouldn't be chasing marginal QB talents in the early rounds because of it. Boy were we wrong.

Usually Bear fans get pissed about stuff like this, then add another notch to their belt and joke about it later. This one feels different. So different that a lifetime can pass, and I will still want to punch Pace in the suckhole for the events that transpired on 4/27/17.

FINAL NOTE: The Bears have never had a "franchise quarterback" in their entire history, with the exception of Sid Luckman many decades ago.

Their biggest rival just replaced a first ballot hall of famer with another first ballot hall of famer. I'm sure the thought process was "we need one too, and this is our top priority", but the Bears are too short-sighted to realize Trubisky isn't the guy you go all in on.

I hope Budda Baker, Josh Jones, and/or Obi drops. If not, I'll take Marcus Williams or Marcus Maye in the 2nd. Or I like that small school TE, Adam Shaheen.

The only way this trade is acceptable for bears is if Mitch T is Jesus in pads in the nfl

Poor Kizer the only QB left in the green room.

He should have known that he wasn't ready yet, especially a 1st rounder. As most would have agreed (especially Kelly), he should have stayed in college another year!

I'd go with Allen to the Redskins being the pick of the night. Top 5 talent fell in their laps in the second half of the first round. The fact that Houston had to move up 15 spots to get Watson hurts the value of that pick.

In all seriousness and as much as hate OSU, Conley is almost certainly innocent. I'm not sure why the woman would have lied about how she met him otherwise Gareon Conley Video Shows Rape Accuser with NFL Prospect at Bar | TMZ.com

I'm a Raider fan and too dislikes O$U and though Conley is very talented player and a player of need position wise for Raiders, I think that I would have preferred they stayed away from this selection. I'm definitely skeptical that this was a wasted first round pick for them (rape accusation). It's nothing like the Jamarcus Russell 1st round pick selection though many moons ago (ouch!). I wished that the Raiders would have taken Foster, another position of need. Oh well, we'll see how this all plays out.

OJ Howard... Its not a sexy pic for ROTY but Tampa runs a ton of two TE sets and he will be on the field a ton.. I think he makes the pro bowl and makes a huge impact

Offensive Rookie of the Year is Mike Williams, WR, Chargers. Rivers loves to toss the rock around and with about everyone offensive player on their roster coming back from injury, Mike Williams becomes the go to for Rivers.

Defensive Rookie of the Year is Marshon Lattimore. Saints have already shown they have an eye for OSU DB talent, and Lattimore finds a comfortable spot with players he is familiar with around him.

Fournette is my pick at the moment, especially if Jacksonville addresses their OL with remaining picks. They are going to lean on him to a great degree, like the Cowboys with Elliot or the Titans with Murray. They have to, because Bortles is terribad, and the only way to save him is by feeding a beast on 1st and 2nd down no matter what. They'll be in a true run-first power scheme. If Fournette stays healthy, he could be ROY based on volume-of-work alone.

DeShaun Watson would be my pick if he starts right away... but if they "season" him for 5 or 6 games (aka, wait until they get tired of Savage or whoever the 'incumbent' is supposed to be), then it might be too late, depending on how many games he wins after that. And I don't think that he will start right away. But if he does, you could flip-flop him and Fournette.

Dark Horse (Homer): John Ross. If Green and Eifert, by some miracle, both play full seasons, Ross is going to terrorize opposing CB's and Safeties, and, as a rookie, he'll surpass even the most successful season that Marvin Jones had as a Bengal (800+ yards, 10+ TDs). Those numbers would be ROY-worthy. But Eifert and Green won't both be healthy all year, so it's moot.

Defensive ROY, I'm going Reuben Foster. He's going to feast behind the young DL that San Fran has put together. It only helps that they added Solomon Thomas.

Very pleased with the draft from a Titans perspective. Thought we reached with Davis at No. 5, but the fact that all quality WR's were taken before the 10th pick shows I was wrong on that one.

We needed a No. 1 WR and a good CB. We got a No. 1 WR, a good CB and an excellent return man to boot. Color me impressed.

Should we wait until Saturday night to predict this? There are a lot of really good players on the board that could have a really good chance to win offensive/defensive ROY.

I'm curious about the bolded and if it's kind of a catch-22. If the Titans go DB first, does that change what the Chargers do? They already had a crowded WR group, so maybe they don't feel the pressure to grab one if Davis isn't taken so early? Or perhaps the Bengals try harder to trade back if only one WR is taken ahead of them, instead of two, because by pick no.9, there was already only one first-round-worthy WR left.

Regardless, it shows that this WR group was good enough that all it took was a small push to start an early run. That being the case, it's unlikely the Titans get their man at WR at 18.

I've slept on it...

...and I'm still furious with what Pace did to the Bears franchise and all their fans.

Like mentioned above, this one feels different. NO ONE felt the QBs in this draft were strong, yet we watched three teams panic and move up to get one. Unbelievable stupidity.

I thought for sure Salomon Thomas or Jamal Adams were who the Bears would pick and I would've been ecstatic. Hell, I would've been OK with them trading down for more picks.

But they did the opposite, sold the farm, and bought a mediocre QB with 13 starts to sit behind another mediocre QB they just signed in Glennon. God, I hate them. Meanwhile, they need help in so many other areas.

Fournette is now the 3rd highest paid RB in terms of guaranteed money, so he better win ROTY and get high volume, or else it will be one of the worst picks in the draft (that doenst include selling the house for a qb).

Gave away 4 picks to boot. Read the transcript with Pace last night. The man is a complete buffoon. He got utterly played by Lynch, a guy that is brand new to the role of GM, and got completely snookered. Pace is an incompetent fool...

Chicago Bears News - Chicago Tribune

You’ve been consistent (saying) you’re going to build this roster through the draft. How do you reconcile that with giving up three picks that would help supplement this roster with talent?

Yeah, that’s hard. You’re balancing that. I want to be aggressive. I want to get a guy that we like and we want, but you’re giving away picks. Those are hard to part ways with. But there’s avenues. Maybe we can acquire more picks like we did last year. So you’re kind of weighing all that.

$5 dollars that Lynch called Pace a "pancake eating motherfcker"?

I didn't like the trade, but let's be fair, 3 mid round picks is not selling the farm. Selling the farm is trading a 3rd and a future 1st for Patrick friggin' Mahomes.
