Something to consider for all those folks complaining about 3 stars.
Clemson started 8 3-star players and 2, 2-star players in the title game.
- Wayne Gallman, Jordan Leggett, Taylor Hearn, Jay Guillermo, Kendall Joseph, Jadar Johnson, Van Smith and Cordrea Tankersley were all 3-star players.
- Hunter Renfroe and Ryan Carter were 2-star players.

Clemson has 41 and a National Championship trophy.

not expected to be part of the oregon class...he has havard and some other ivy league offers...has visits to vandy and boise st set up....nothing set up w/ us right now

Now, before this gets out of hand let me just say ND is not a title contender until it has 2-4 FIVE STAR players contributing. That is unless you luck out and have 2-4 Will Fuller type 4 stars on the roster... much like Washington did with Browning, Ross, Baker and Co. and I'm sure Peterson will tell you he ran out of horses against Bama.
But being a play or two away from the playoffs like last year takes not just abundant talent but elite, impact players like Jaylon, Ronnie and Will.

Yea...is it possible folks are bailing because of the addition of a new d coordinator, or other coaching chang s...sure...or they are 18, or their gf likes x teams colors. You can read a lot into decommits, especially after a 4-8 season. But I expected worse...it isn't over yet, but this is not bad.

I agree 100% with everything you just said. We are not going to win any NC if we recruit like this every year. But if we can have a good season next year, the 2018 class seems to be loaded at a lot of the positions of need. The new staff is recruiting their ass off and if we can get a few diamonds in the rough to fill out the class we should be OK.… As long as we rebound with a top-five class next year.

I think people would be more reasonable about the late push for lower rated kids if there was something to show for development around here.
We've had a few development success stories, where's as all the guys someone mentioned for Clemson were ALL success stories.
So sorry if I'm not gonna get all gun ho about ND putting their eggs in the "we plan to bat 1.000 on the 10 3*s panning out to play championship football" no matter how much were lead to believe that these guys are "better fits" or "want to be at ND".
