I don't think that Stanley will fall that far (15), but if he did, then this was an awesome trade.

Also, what an ignorant trade by the Rams. They gave up four picks and their #1 pick next year for who? Goff? Please..,.

This guy at SI made this prediction yesterday.

Bonus! Los Angeles Rams: The Rams were on the other side of the coin when they flipped pick No. 2 to Washington for three first-rounders (including No. 6 that year) and a second-rounder. If the price tag to get to No. 1 this year is in a similar ballpark, Tennessee probably can just go ahead and pick. The buzz on the 2016 quarterbacks in general does not match the Andrew Luck-Robert Griffin III fervor. Should Los Angeles have hope of a 14-spot jump, it would have to believe its three top-50 picks this year at least could get the ball rolling. How desperate is this franchise for a new quarterback?

Rams get: No. 1, take Jared Goff

Titans get: Nos. 15, 43 and 45, plus a 2017 first and third, take Jack Conklin

Nice to see that the Ram's front office is still in the business of tanking its own franchise. Really just feel badly for Goff having his career reduced to basically just a ticket seller on a useless football team. Many years of football irrelevance and the city/team deserves it. But hey at least you'll have a state of the art stadium all to yourselves all 10 Rams fans who have nothing better to do in LA in 3 years.

Huh? I think that Goff is more than serviceable at best. Servicable is his floor, I think he will eventually be in the 5-12 range for QBs in the league. Wentz has a lower floor (there is a chance that he never adjusts and flames out) but he has a pretty good ceiling (5-15) range.

They had some metric on an espn insider article(I think?) that predicts Star, Above average, servicable, and bust. It pretty much echoed your thoughts. I've seen Wentz in person about a million times, I'd be shocked if he proves to be worthy of a high 1st round but I'm also not a scout and they seem to see something in him.

I think the crap that he had to go through at Cal has him much better prepared.

Wentz played on a team that was significantly better than pretty much everyone else at the level, was better before he became the starter, and demolished pretty much everyone they played after he got hurt as well.

You could say that now but someone pops up almost every year from almost nowhere and becomes a hot commodity. I doubt either Wentz or Lynch were on many teams' radar before last season, now everyone with a QB need is considering them.

If La'el Collins is a reference point, Oakman isn't getting drafted.

Collins was dismissed as a suspect a couple of days before last year's draft and still went undrafted. Oakman was arrested just last week and is out on bond, so yeah. The longer that case drags out, the more likely it is that he goes undrafted and he probably won't even be a priority free agent. He probably won't even get a look until that case is resolved.
