Where are you seeing this? I have looked at a few mocks that have come out after the combine and they all have Hargreaves going before Alexander. In fact they all have Hargreaves going in the top 10 and as the second DB after Ramsey.

The SB Nation mock draft above cites his short arms as a growing concern, and has him falling into the 20 spot. I saw one other mock that had him in the 20's, but it was a local thing that was probably just trying to pick up the current "feel" around the prospects.

I know, my reaction was strong considering the guy is still a first-rounder. But my problem is that this stuff happens every year right after the combine. Some prospect, that is clearly a stud, will fall in the draft (or at least their stock will take a hit) because one person will cite a useless concern (like arm-length on a guy playing lockdown corner), and then everybody runs with that, and then front office "sources" start citing the same issues with so-and-so's "measurables."

Darquez Dennard might have been the first CB drafted in '14 if not for his short arms. And that's a ridiculous reason.

Mike Mayock, who we all respect, agrees with us that Vernon is a top 10 pick. Says he has the best feet of a DB in the past 5 years.

BFD - then he lands on a better team with a chip on his shoulder and said team gets a steal. That is why so many teams stay on top, they pick up gifts like that if they fall to them.

Fuller definitely helped his stock - great to see ND guys burning it up. I really would have liked to see Jaylon and Russell run the 40 but that is selfish fan stuff.

I hope Jaylon goes ~ pick 30 in 2nd round. Makes 3.7 million off of the insurance policy in that case, goes to a contender who also adds a true 1st rounder and he is part of a dynasty.

Keep in mind any insurance policies Jaylon cashes in on is tax-free. Feel bad for him if he drops but hopefully that softens the blow a little bit.

I don't think that the criticism is "real", though there are reasons to criticize him (propensity to get burned on double moves, lack of elite speed, and slightly short), but I think the criticisms like "short arms" are more like psychological warfare. If a team is picking around 8-10, maybe they leak something like that to hopefully discourage another team from trying to trade above them and pick him, or maybe a team picking 12-15 says it in hopes that he will slide to them. I don't think that teams care about his arm length (though they might care about the other things that I listed), it is more a disinformation campaign.

Also I personally feel that Hargreaves compares to Joe Haden. Similar size, neither ran great 40 times, and both have the ability to be shut down corners.

Man if Jaylon's position holds true.... I mean, obviously no one saw the injury coming but if some 'sucker' had bet me that Jaylon Smith wouldn't be in the first round a few months ago I would have lost a lot of money...

When will these people ever learn?

They won't. I can tell you from being in the military and I'm sure a lot of other active duty or veterans can back me up. You can tell these young kids (this generation) until your blue in the face not to drink and drive, drink underage, or use drugs and they will still do what they want. They only understand when it's too late.

IMO Prescott doesn't have a very bright future in the NFL anyway unless he wants to switch positions. It didn't work out for Tebow and I see Prescott cut from about the same mold.

the frequency that people will drink and drive in america its truly staggering for me as a European. In so many places over here it just isn't done, not even 1 beer.

How do you not grab Kiko and Bradford to the bank. Two first rounders? Sheesh.

Seriously. You delay finding your QB by a year, but you can rebuild the rest of your team while waiting it out.

Mariota is good... but if I'm Tennessee, I'd rather use the extra first rounder and second rounder to add two more key pieces, and survive on Bradford for a year.

The Tennessee GM thought he was a franchise QB. He's certainly shown flashes of it. Attaching yourself to a great quarterback is a surefire way to ensure job security.

Seriously? I Know high school linebackers who can put up 225 more than 9 times, and they're DIII players
