My NFL grades/opinions/projections:

Jaylon Smith
Draft Grade: Elite top 10 pick if healthy (obvious)

Opinion:Reminds me of Robert Quinn pick by Rams. If a team has the patience they will be rewarded greatly.

Ideal landing spot: Green Bay Packers

Ronnie Stanley:
Draft Grade: Elite top 3 OT

Opinion: Plug and play for a decade plus player that could see some pro bowls

Ideal Team: Bears

Sheldon Day:

Draft Grade: 2nd rd

Opinion: I really cannot wait to see Sheldon Play for a good defensive coach and have a supporting cast playing around him.

Ideal Team: Seahawks

Will Fuller

Draft Grade: 2nd rd

Opinion: Boom or bust possibility. All speed and no hands. In the right situation with the right team he could really prosper.

Ideal Team: Tie between Chargers and Ravens. Both teams have a very good QB with a cannon.

CJ Procise:

Draft Grade: 5th rd

Opinion: Played half a year at a position he never played before and is now leaving early for the nfl. Yikes! CJ is one of my favorite players so don't take this the wrong way, but this is a bad decision. I don't care how many rb's are coming out next year or how many we have coming back. This is horrible for all parties.

Ideal Team: Patriots (needs a team that can find a way to develop him and utilize his talents)

Russell:

Draft Grade: 3rd Rd

Opinion: starts ST right away and works his way in the lineup in a year

Ideal Team: Giants

Okwara:

Draft Grade 4th rd

Opinion: needs time to develop. but will make it IMHO

Ideal Team: Broncos

Hope Smith doesn't have to go through the BQ tumble.

Unrelated: Duarte from UCLA declared for the draft.

Early second may be a blessing in disguise -- $5 mil insurance payout, pretty good initial contract and less pressure to come out of the gate like a super hero, risking re-injury of the knee.

Mel Kiper had Fuller going to Cincy in his latest mock draft. I would love this, but it would also mean that they aren't re-signing Marvin Jones. They essentially use Jones as a go-route or WR-screen guy opposite AJ Green, and that would fit Will's skill set perfectly.

Kiper has been on the money with the Bengals' drafts for a long time now. There are rumors in Cincy that he has some kind of influence with Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis that goes beyond simply being a draft guru with inside sources. There are a lot of people that believe he literally has a hand in their draft picks.

He was preaching Eifert-to-Cincy for months before that draft, while no one believed it because they had Gresham. I hope he's right on Fuller lol.

Not so fast my friend.

The Colts picked Dorsett, figured that spelled the end for TY. Nope, they ended up over spending on him.

That doesn't make the mock any better. I've always taken everything PFF does with a grain of salt.

Heard today that there are 101 different underclassmen who have declared for the draft. Thinking about 20 of them won't even get drafted...if it plays out like it did last year. Could it be that some athletes are getting bad advice? I know that there are some special circumstances that steer a kid in that direction but where do they go if they don't make it AND they don't have a degree?

Two years ago roughly 36% didn't get drafted. Last year it was 28%. I figure these are likely kids that even if they didn't declare they probably wouldn't do the work required to get their degree.

For some reason, Carson Wentz from NDSU is flying up the draft boards(apparently). Rumors up here are Cleveland at #2 or Cowboys at #4.

I don't believe it yet.

Would love for Pittsburgh to get Stanley. Jaylon would be fun too. Unfortunately both are toys the Steelers cant have.

saw Paxton Lynch's bowl game and he looked terrible. I can see why Wentz is rising

I guess I can and I can't at the same time. Weak QB class. I'd be pumped if he goes to Cleveland. Steelers D looks like it's on the uptick. Cincinnati is solid. Baltimore should be back to their winning ways.

I just can not wait until JFF is let lose and is no longer a story for my Brownies... usually, this time of year I can search free agent rumors, draft rumors, season predictions, that sort of thing with Cleveland... not now, every freaking story anywhere is about this dumbass and MAYBE a sentence or two about the draft or possible free agents...

worst damned pick/personnel move move the Browns have ever made, and that's saying something. Can't wait to just clap the hands and move on, nowhere to go but up from there.

Wash your hands of JFF so the franchise can make the next mistake lol.

But seriously Hue Jackson should be great for Cleveland.

Yeah, when did everyone start thinking that Jack is the greatest LB prospect since Patrick Willis? A lot of people were rating him over Jaylon even before the nerve stuff came out.

The fact that Hargreaves is falling because of his arm measurables is everything that's wrong with the intricacies of scouting.

Yes, there are some very useful and needed restrictions in terms of those measurables... but arm-length, for a guy as gifted as Hargreaves, is not one of those things that you should worry about.

Hargreaves is wayyyyyy better than Alexander IMO. The guy was unreal as a lockdown corner at Florida. Alexander is very, very good. But Hargreaves is insane.

Where are you seeing this? I have looked at a few mocks that have come out after the combine and they all have Hargreaves going before Alexander. In fact they all have Hargreaves going in the top 10 and as the second DB after Ramsey.
