I'd remove DJ Morgan from that list only because he looks to be a bonafide linebacker or hybrid player but maybe I'm way off.

If we get two, I'd love one of: Hamlin or Long and Studstill.

Of course, I'd love to add Brandon Burton but I don't know how serious the interest is so I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonable.

Don't forget Demetris Robertson, who many (most?) feel is best suited as a DB in college.

And they generally "cut' players by forcing them to take a medical hardship scholarship...

Not true, not even a little. They just run them out. They tell them things like, you're not going to play here so if you do you may want to look elsewhere. The world of college football is a pretty sick place but there are a few institutions that do it the right way a majority of the time and ND is one of them. Not always but more consistently than others.

"Former Alabama football players say the school's No. 1-ranked football program has tried to gain a competitive edge by encouraging some underperforming players to quit the team for medical reasons, even in cases where the players are still healthy enough to play."

So you grabbed one example and you think that tells the whole story. And on top of that, you grab a story where the players said it wasn't warranted. Not sure thats doing your argument a lot of favors.

Doesn't explain the whole issue, but it's part of it and a significant one at that. And of course I'm referencing the unwarranted stories, no one's arguing putting Eric LeGrand on medical scholarship gave Rutgers a competitive advantage.

To my knowledge, Notre Dame has never "forced" a player to take a medical hardship. In fact, every medical hardship case I remember, the player never played another down of football. Unlike other schools where they give them a medical hardship and then they transfer and get medically cleared at another institution.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

Updated defense master list from Scout. Pretty much what you'd expect, but was a bit surprised to see us trending up for Damar Hamlin and Jonathan Jones. Also seems very confident Studstill ends up Irish.

wiltfong--thinks hamlin stays in pitt
loy/wiltfong--think ND for studstill
loy--believes hansford has the edge as michigan was neck and neck following his visit to ND plus he goes back again to michigan at end of season

ND currently has 16 commits in this class. I think we end up taking 25 guys if it's 25 guys we want and we work out the numbers later. Here is how I think ND finishes this class with 9 spots left.

WR: Javon Mckinley or Demtris Robertson
RB/Slot: Damian Alloway
Corner: Troy Pride Jr.
Safety: Studstill & Okeke
DE: Kareem & Hayes
LB: hansford or Jones

That's only 8.

We can't just "work out the numbers later." That is the definition of oversigning, which nearly every person on this site rails against when other programs do it.

Kemp? Not wanted? Not good enough?
Another running back?

So, who committed? Not saying anyone really did but they should have.

No one has been announced yet, but we are in good shape to land several of these kids that visited! The one thing that stands out to me is that Kelly's team delivered on the big stage twice with huge wins over Texas and USC. The way things are going, we should all be excited about this year's impending class!

The BGI podcast said that they expected one of Hayes or Kareem to commit this weekend. And that was from the recruiting analyst.

Just sitting by the computer and phone hoping to see us pick up a commitment. I can't see us not picking up someone soon that would be a huge disapointment.

Scout: after talking with current commits and other sources they think multiple commitments will happen from this weekend.
