I hope its an unimportant period of history you are slacking off on.

I'm a Social Studies Ed major, so it's all important. haha

We are about to get into the Civil War. Today we were talking about nullification, Andrew Jackson, and John Calhoun.

I spent yesterday teaching my mom about the Louisiana Purchase, the War of 1812, and the Battle of New Orleans on a map at the bar. hah

I think it's nice that you and your mom go to the bar together and study maps.

I'd like another pass-rushing DE as you can never seem to have enough of those. Add in one more CB or S, and the defensive part of the draft will be very solid.

No sh!t. Scary where we have gone to these days. Almost feel guilty for bringing my 2 kids into this world.

I was talking about IRISH football when Monk created the Davie, Willingham, Weis Apology Tour.

Similar to your frame of reference but in a different arena.

I was too... I feel bad they had to watch the Willingham and Weis eras. They thought I was nuts when I said we were the best program ever.

Updated OP.

Added a scholarship count. Edited some recruitment descriptions. Probably have more to do still.

Let me know what you think. Doing this all in history class.

Looks great.

Can we update Ross from that impending June visit?

RB or S is a toss-up for me. We are very thin on the backend of our defense. Then a big receiver, ideally Aliz'e.

If you could finish with a Soso, Buncom, Aliz'e and a top 20 WDE, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

We have two safety in this class already. Next year our running back situation as of right now is Tarean Folston, Greg Bryant and Josh Adams. We need another running back, it has to be the main priority IMO

I'd agree that RB is a greater need than S, but not by much since we run a 1-back system.

While Fertitta may be classified as a "S", the staff likely views him as a NB/ specialist. Which means our actual projected depth at the position for 2015 is 5/8.

I understand that you are slotting two of them as safeties and the coaches may be doing that as well but we are severely thin at the position. We technically have two safeties, a nickleback and Tranquil who is kind of a tweener but has played beyond his years. By your logic, you want 4 at RB and we have two safety positions so should we have 7-8 able bodies? Right now, we look to have 3, maybe four.

And Fertita will likely redshirt his first year so he doesn't provide immediate help. I hope White can earn time but we really need a physically developed safety to come in and provide relief minutes next year.**

True, and if the situation at RB becomes an emergency we can always bring back Carlisle as a flex WR/RB.

I see the need for safety but I don't see it as a MUST. I still think we will land a guy like Buncom or a late offer in December we like to through out. Just need to get a couple guys on campus and see how that position shakes out.

Would really like to land Brossestte but Soso man just been incredible this year and in Alford we trust

I just want Amir to settle in and one position and just keep doing what he is doing. He always seems banged up and can never get in a grove. Just need to keep him in the slot and keep developing there. Other then Sanders coming in we are weaker at the slot then at RB.

No info, but of Ross, Marshall, and Minkah Fitzpatrick, I think we get one of them. Obviously have to get each one on campus at some point for that to happen, but if they visit it's going to be for a reason.

All three of those guys are real longshots. I'd be surprised if we got any of them. Buncom is the best bet, IMO.

I think they are all very much long shots. Ross is really starting to lean towards USC and with his father it's no secret he loves USC. I think a couple months ago Ross was a legit opinion. Hopefully we can work some magic during his official. I have no doubt in my mind Iman Marshall will love his ND visit but he has been to USC probably 200 times and familiarity usually wins out. He goes sometimes just to watch USC practice and is very tight with that football team. Minkah Fitzpatrick now while there is some rumors going around he will come for an official he hasn't said a word about ND in 8 months. I think there is a good chance he comes with Wimbush on an official but as it stands right now he is very much a long shot. But I really hope you are right and we land one of these guys but I think it stands right now they are all long shots.

Could the class handle a TE, RB, S, and DE? If we lucked out getting all of those positions, it would shore up most of our depth issues.

According to ISD, yes. We're at 21 now, and the staff plans to take 25. Any additional commits beyond that would necessitate some very painful trade-offs with 5Ys.

Prosise? Carlise? Hunter Jr? Sanders? That seems like plenty of talent to find one who can lock down the position. Or have you been underwhelmed by the first two?

Prosise is a nice player. Carilse love him but he is never healthy and Hunter just needs more reps. I think the staff likes him more on the outside it seems. I am big fan of CJ Sanders

Small tidbit thats interesting. Sampson at II said that he expects a new wave of offers at RB to go out.

-To me it seemed like we were content riding out Brossette and Soso with Bussey being the next in-line. I would think we'd try to get Bussey on campus before going after new offers but what do I know.

Wish we would, I really like Bussey as the third choice
