Im saying there's no reason/excuse for kelly not to have 1. Teams put defensive stars in backfield/hback, surely kelly could manage to put decent athletes not doing anything in some special package.

Kelly does not use a fb and most likely never will. A fb does not have any role in his offense. When asked about it he laughs....

Deeb isn't playing linebacker because he is too slow. Deeb did not play fullback for his high school team, American Heritage(Plantation). How could he possibly play in the backfield of a college playoff contender?

Kick rocks troll.

I don't think he is that far off with his post. Deeb's knock on him was his speed. IMO he had a very shaky junior tape his senior tape was better. I just don't think he is good enough to play right now. He is very buried on the depth chart, I think Greer Martini beat him out in the first three days. Something is going on with Deeb because he seemed like a great kid.

Deeb and Martini are at different positions. Martini it at Will and Deeb at Mike. Deeb was passed by Nyles Morgan

I don't know if physically Heurman is ready yet. I think he is going to be a great player for us. Still four years left to play

He warmed up right in front of me at the FSU game and I actually thought he looked better than on TV. He does need to add a couple more lbs and if he stays healthy Im with you on thinking he will be a great player for us.

Not banned, just a busy week. And really hating all things FSU right now.

Not the right thread, but I couldn't happier with the whole team right now. I'll specifically give credit to the DL and WRs (Fuller not included) who I called out pre-season. CJ and Rob were excellent IMO.

Obviously wanted a win and we should have won, but even with a loss, this team and program is so much better set in every facet of CFB than before the game. We're a great team and nobody worth their two cents would say otherwise.

Win out and we're in. Still offering 1 billion to 1 vbuck to anyone who's crazy enough to think a 1 loss ND team is out of the playoffs ;).

Luatua is the H Back of the future.

I can't wait until the days when we can run goaline power inside the 10 and expect to get a TD everytime (I am thinking Holtz Era full house backfield days, Marc Edwards, Bettis, Brooks, Ray Zellars). I think Luatua will be a force blocking but maybe teach him how to run down hill and always fall forward too. That would be ideal.

Not sure where to put this but some talk at II about the last two classes of LB's and where they fit in.

TJ,

BVG is really excited about his future LB corps comprised of the trio/quartet in the '14 class and soon-to-be trio in this '15 class. Very, very high on the group individually and collectively -- a great mix and match of profiles, talents and skill sets for what he wants to do. By his own admission, he "just has to coach them up and not screw them up!"

TJ on DB recruiting. Recruiting both S and CB?

Yes, ideally both if two top guys want in. Perhaps more practically, though, at least one with Safety being the preferred position, although an elite CB ready to pop ahead of a S might change that if it worked out that way.

Updated the Master List on post #1361 w/ Coney's verbal.

Seems to be room for two more commits before you start getting into tough decisions with Tier 1 5Y guys. Transfers, medicals, early departures will help but are never a given.

At this point, if it's me, it's S and RB for the last two spots. WR, TE, CB, DE, etc are all a luxury that will force the staff's hand. Like mentioned on ISD, the staff may start the "No more visits, or you lose your spot" routine.

Will be very interesting to see how this all plays out. The numbers are very tight.

Scout...FWIW, ND is in Utah checking out OL Branden Bowen and a week or so ago they were in Wyoming looking at ATH Tevis Bartlett. Not sure how interested ND is but this late in the game with the names left it is interesting.

Per TV coaches on the road this week. I'll put everything here and we can move the convo to individual player threads as needed.

-Alford in Florida expecting Coney's commitment and going to school to help everything squared away so he can EE.

-Alford will also stop in to see Calving Brewton

-Bk and Alford will be going to Soso's game tomorrow night

-Bk will then come back to Ohio to watch Shaun Crawfords team play Elijah Taylor and Jake Hausmann's.

-Alford also visited Brosette

-ND but not sure who stopped at Bishop Gorman to visit Fertita, Jones, and Broadus

-Denbrock stopped in Louisiana to visit Shea Patterson

-Alford also visited Cronkite while in Miami.

-Since the staff was in Utah visiting Brandon Bowen they expect them to visit Porter Gustin

-Scott Booker visited Kendrick Norton

Go full in on Soso I really want him bad. The good thing is that we are narrowing down and that gives us the time to zero in on our targets. My question is why are we not visiting ESB though, he is a big priority though

I'm assuming the staff feels like they can wrap up Soso or Soso could make a decision prior to ESB. Keep in mind that all commits and still available recruits will get in home visits later on. Soso has always worked with a October timeline and we are probably operating with that as well.

Two parts. First, we don't have a huge need for numbers at DE as we brought in 4 last year. Second, we already have 1 committed so we are looking for difference makers. Those difference makers just don't seem to have a lot of interest in ND.
Keep in mind, that prospect that comes in this class will have to beat out Trumbetti, Hill, Blankenship, and Williams to get playing time. It will have to be a special player for that to happen.

-Also, there is 3rd part to this as well. Create an eligibility gap between last years class and 2016's which has some really talented DE's that are high on ND.
