From what I understand he is not interested at all and I also believe that he does not necessarily fit what Kelly wants in a qb

MLB Jahvoni Simmons and S Jahque Allenyne from Virginia are coming to visit in late June with 2016 skill player Levonta Taylor per Steve Hare.

Simmons is the #4 MLB on Rivals and #105 overall.

Maybe it's just me but a month or so ago I wasn't real sure how this class was going to look come February. I felt we would meet our needs but didn't know if it would be that highly "ranked" per se.

The staff sure has lined itself up for a great haul at this stage. RB recruiting was looking poor for a while. Now we have Soso on campus with a lot of positive reviews. A couple others schedule for II if I am not mistaken. They seem to quickly have rebounded from the BB loss. Add in the two DT's and an assumed corner in the fold. Lots of time rest of year to really focus on the few remaining spots.

Things sure look good atm.

They really do. When one door gets slammed shut 2 or 3 seem to open. Recruiting is definitely a crazy game and it gets crazier every year. The great thing is that the program hasn't been this well balanced since Lou was here so I am expecting a lot of great things as long as Kelly is roaming the sidelines.

TJ said that the staff is currently working with a projection of 20 +/- spots for this class.

We officially have 9 but really 10 with:
2 DT
1 LB
3 OL
2 WR
2 DB

We expect to add
1 QB
2-3 WR
1-2 RB
2 LB
1-2 DE
1-2 DB

Does that sound about right?

Is Sanders viewed as a possibility for an all purpose back? I'm just wondering if the staff would only take 1 more RB but three more WRs (even if one of the WRs isn't Boykin who seems to be viewed as position-versatile).

EDIT: and if Crawford commits he could cloud the WR picture further if the staff is serious in using him on O. ND seems to be in the mix for an excellent WR class and I would hate to turn down or stop recruiting a good one just to get two additional bodies at RB.

I think it's been said, and it definitely makes sense, that ESB, Newsome, and Ofodile could all three commit. I'm not sure if we would take 3 if it isn't that group but I suppose Boykin as a versatile jumbo WR potential TE could make the cut.

And, yes, I think that would limit it to 1 RB unless two elite guys wanted to come.

At this stage I think this looks good and gives us some flexibility to work with. However, I think DB's is a hard number of 2 with 3 being possible if its the right guy or a swing guy CB/S. I'll add that we're are still going to recruit DT's. The staff wants to grab an elite DT if we can. Greene, Gallimore etc. So those are the situations that skew the numbers a bit.

Thanks, my fear was they would take 2 RBs to hedge if they were lower rated guys. It makes sense the number only expands if the second guy is higher quality.

I'm curious how Baker would fit in, numbers-wise. Hypothetically, if Hilliard and Bilal or Massina (or Wallace) committed, would Baker be be a non-take? Or would he be a take, but perhaps he takes a DB or RB spot?

I can't speak for the rest of IE, but here's how he fits in for me:

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT.

I think we have a good shot at that DE from Cal Poly.

Joseph Wicker. So, do I but I think he projects long term at DT. He'd be a good complement to Taylor and Tiassum, IMO. I'd have Gallimore and Greene ahead of him but I do like him quite a bit.

Well that's a curve ball I didn't see coming. Didn't we get a scholly kicker and a PWO last year? Gonna throw a kink in our numbers discussion.

My head may literally explode if BK gives a scholly to a kicker to a kicker this year.

Im guessing this kid is just a kicker and not a P/K like Tyler Newsome.
