This is a really random post but thought I would offer some insight on a visit I went on with a recruit and curious to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. This was last year though and overall I was kinda of surprised with the langauge the coaches were using in the meetings with a couple of parents in the room with their sons. To me i thought it was comical to sit in the defensive meetings and hear the comments about the BullS*** girlfreinds cause and said no freshman should have girlfriends coming into college obvious with the lynch situation. I can undertsand and can vouch for when recruits say the coaches say it how it is. They tell the kids in front of everyone where they stand on their board and if they are gonna wait on other recruits or not. And when we went out to practice, its a wonder that ND doesnt have 21312 injuries after practice. There are just some crazy a**rills that some have to endure physically lol. Again I know its random just wasnt sure where to put this. Also this was an unoffical visit last summer.

I thought this contained some interesting information. There are a couple of general recruiting threads and a couple of coaching threads. A title like "My experience with a recruit at ND on an unofficial may have been good too.

But I liked this post because it actually confirmed a couple of pieces of information I have heard elsewhere.

we are in the top groups of a lot of young men but it seems like quite a few of them are keeping us at arms length as well.

could lead to epic class or us being the star of 27 dresses part 2

I feel the same way. ND seems at the top or so close for a lot of these top prospects. I can't help but imagine this class adding guys like Quick, Lazard, Holmes, (Brent will get a huge bump based on his camp performances), Luatua, possibly Braden Smith or maybe surprising the world and getting Mama, Thomas Holley, Matt Elam, Salomon Thomas, Lorenzo Carter, Yeargin, maybe A. Williams, JuJu, and Nick Watkins. Ugh...what a dream scenario.

Obviously this puts the class around 26, which may be more than what the staff is willing to take. And a couple of glaring problems with my dream class is that it's missing a stud ILB and personally, I'd like to add more DL instead of another 1-2 OL...but that's just me. Overall though, that's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities for this cycle. Long shot? Of course. But I learned a long time ago that anything can happen w/ this staff.

One more thing...TP mentioned a while back that the staff seems confident that the class will be pretty much filled up by the end of summer with only the all-star game/NSD guys being left on the board. Is this still the case? I didn't realize so many of these prospects were close to deciding. Based on the recent updates, this doesn't seem likely and a lot of these guys will let the process play out some more.

First.....get out of my dreams!

I am also noticing the ILB thing and am hoping Mouhon or somebody else pops for us.

As far as summer thing it depends on how you define that. September 22 is technically the first day of fall. And it does seem like a lot of timetables have been moving in that direction. Some of these guys will decide by then. But most all of these guys also qualify for star status too. Not sure how long we hold out personally but I don't want to miss on a bunch near the end and be stuck with a low quality class.

This class has a legit shot at A+ status. However, as mentioned above, ILB, NT, S, and CB are all hit or miss. Hopefully we'll expand the net if we strike out at those positions. We could legitimately end up with Mouhon, Elam/Holley, Watkins, and JuJu Smith, or someone WAY down the chart.

Braxton Berrios , kid has been dominating all week at The Opening. The title is misleading by Loy though, it just says Kizer has been on him, doesn't say if the ND staff is.

There's been a Woodhead/Welker/Amendola argument on TBB all week

Kizer told ISD about him too, sounds like its just Kizer that likes him not the staff

Kizer said in his ISD interview last night he was scouting players and would bring back recommendations to the staff. His comments made me chuckle.
