Solomon Thomas is a name I actually feel cautiously optimistic about. From what I have read about him he seems like he would fit really well with Notre Dame. I think he likes the idea of a school like ND or Stanford and hopefully ND can really open his eyes on his visit. Texas leads but that's all he's really ever known. A member of the Rivals or 247 staff, can't remember who, pointed out that we don't get updates from guys like Garrett, Watkins or Thomas much because they keep it on the down low when it comes to interest in out of state schools. If the new 10 year deal comes out soon as Sampson thinks that can only help if we can guarentee Thomas or another TX prospect a couple games in TX.

Just wanted to get that off me while some are looking at this thread and I was thinking whether or not to include him on the list.

Yeah I feel the same way about this kid as I did with Redfield last year. I just felt that like if we could get him to visit, that we would have a great chance with the kid because of how he values academics.

Include him at the top of the list!!! I agree 100%. High character, 5-star, strong faith, focused on academics AND pre-disposed to ND (same HS as Cam McDaniel). I am sure Lax would approve.

I agree about Solomon. So much of this always depends on how things shake out though.

And what about Myles Garrett? We hadn't heard much out of him, but he is supposed to be up here soon. (3 days) That could be interesting to see how things look after his visit.

I think he would likely be the hardest pull out of our Texas targets (Watkins, Solomon and Myles), but if we did get Nick and Solomon, it'd be interesting if we could create some wickedly awesome Triple Texas Tandem.

Pipe dreams, I know.

I will concur with the optimism surrounding Solomon Thomas. I think we'll get him on campus this summer and then an OV. However, I have no confidence in Garrett. If he doesn't visit I think that ship sails. He may not say that he's an A&M lock but it sure feels that way.

Loy's source says that Garrett isnt coming. Thomas is on the 11th. Pretty interesting that both sites have confirmed him visiting but neither one have him on their visitors list, smh

Joshua Frazier is another nose guard that could immediately take over for Irish Chocolate and he appears to have more interest in visiting South Bend then Clark but as it stands he needs to take a foreign language class to get into Notre Dame and he has no plans to do that right now. Notre Dame is on the outside looking in if he ultimately decides to not take the class but if he does Notre Dame has a legit shot at him with Bama and Arkansas leading at the moment.

Has any new info come out since these tweets? He sent these out shortly after excluding ND from his top 5 and I don't remember hearing he changed his mind...

Unfortunately the future stars camp this weekend is still closed to the media, I was hoping it wasn't since it looked like they were modeling other big events like FNL but according to Loy it is still closed to the media.

With so many of the recruits there I wouldn't be surprised if that was intentional. They have a mic in their face and questions at the ready everywhere they go, so it might be a welcome relief that they can just play football and learn from the coaches. I think parents consider it a breath of fresh air too for their boys.

All good points but at the same time it's nice to hear reports about prospects and commits, ecspecially guys like Greer Martini who don't go to camps. Also the media attention makes it even more of a event which a lot of recruits like.

Is Rivals and 247 profile list an offer as well but I've never seen a report on him. Wierd

Apparently he visited for Junior Day per his 247 profile. Again didn't see any report

He looks like a badass MLB, but his offers and rankings say otherwise.

Yep my bad, read to quickly. Since it was before the Oregon visit I assumed it was in the past but the Oregon visit is a official scheduled for months from now.

He looks like a solid SDE for his HS but nothing really jumps out. I'd be very surprised if we offered.

Jaylen Johnson - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

Why do you say this? He plays with his hand in the ground 95% of his highlights.

I actually really like his film. I hope we have offered.

And Kuehnja sorta joked about the MLB thing, but honestly...he seems to have the appropriate size and he plays the run very well. If I thought he was athletic enough to play in space, I'd definitely consider looking at him as a LB. He looks really smart. I love it. He beats reaches, squeezes down and keeps good contain, rides and sheds his blockers well...
