Bb was on mike and mike this am. Thought it was interesting that he said resources to pay asst coaches was a big reason for taking the ark job. Apparently there was a rule at wisky that limited pay to 300k. Also said the playoff structure was another reason. Would love to hear delany respond to that. But hey, they got rutgers now.

I wonder if Cinci will go after Bobby Petrino?

If so, they better have a good valet for all that baggage he brings. It is not just the situation at Arkansas, but his middle of the night departure from the Falcons that still is fresh in a few AD's minds.

Brett Beilima (sp) makes me want to puke. Just heard him on Mike and Mike on the way in to work. Leaving Wisconsin for Arkansas because the Hogs are committed to being a football factory. Talking about making the playoffs with one loss and not winning the conference being a plus and an open checkbook for assistants. Fact is, he doesn't give a chit about the "student" aspect of student-athletes and the SEC is the premier conference for footbawl first, second and last on the priority list. Go greyshirt, oversign and cut your way to the promise land Brett! I hope you fail miserably for abandoning the system that made you anything you f-ing tool with sending an unranked team to the Rose Bowl. Assclown.

(end rant)

Everybody seems to forget. Bob Diaco was not well received or tolerated at Cinci. Fans forget and get used to winning quick, (including those in the Queen City). The emphasis was on O at Cinci. Most Cinci fans I know wanted him fired throughout his tenure, and consider it a top five reason Kelly was such a flash in the pan.

I am not going back and italicizing any of this post for two reasons; I don't feel like it; and, anyone should be able to tell I am trying to recreate the feelings of some Cinci fans I know. Therefore I may in fact be using a small measure of hyperbole, and more than two dashes of irony. No sarcasm is intended, and no douche bags were killed during the writing of this post.

Why start now?

The only thing I disagree with is that this is a rant. I think this is one of your most righteous posts. You should be proud of it. What is the old saying? Another scumbag attracted to another scumbag conference. You can hear this guys one thought process, "It is not fair that I have to follow the rules stuck here . . .

Sorry, I did not hear anything in his interview on recruiting, other than the new facilities that are going up. In fact, I thought the whole thing was very interesting. Look, the guy lost coaches b/c he school wouldn't pay them. He wants to go to a school that will allow him to keep a staff in place for an extended period of time. Correct me if I am wrong, but this was a major issue at ND not too long ago.

Next, he wants the ability to get into the playoff system and sees the SEC as the best chance of doing so, considering you don't have to win the conference to get in. He sees 11-1 Wisconsin getting shut out if they don't make the Big10 champ game and Ark having a crack at 11-1 not going to SEC champ game. Do you disagree with that premise? I don't.

Sorry, I just fail to see where this interview makes BB look bad. In fact, I think the issues he mentions are some of the reasons ND failed to hire a coach after Holtz until the admin decided they would support football.

Tennessee: Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones accepted the Volunteers head coaching position. He will be introduced at a 2:30 p.m. news conference.

I have no problem with what Bielema did. He obviously felt the resources were limited at Wisconsin. How that is possible when the BIGNet is paying $25mill a year OUTSIDE of football revenue.

3 Simple rules to being successful at college football. Run the ball, stop the run and pay your assistants. UM opened their books after the RR disaster by hiring a real D co-ordinator. IMO Diaco would be best served by staying on for a few years to build the resume and the relationships. However, as a business decision, if they aren't going to pay him to stay then he has no choice but to leave.

That is bizarre. I think of Texas Tech as a better job than Cincy for sure. I will be curious to hear what he has to say about why he took the job.

This move is not based on career progression. It sounds like Tubberville didn't like Lubbock. I'm hearing that Petrino might be his OC at Cincy if he can't score a HC position....

Texas A&M OC Kliff Kingsbury I would guess would be Texas Tech's first choice and I would expect he takes it.

The sooner everyone realizes that college football is dirtier than dirt the happier everyone will be.

Trying to follow the Air Raid at TT was damn near impossible for a defensive minded coach.

Chip Kelly needs to stay at Oregon. He'll be back in college in 2 or 3 years when he realizes that everyone on defence is just as fast as everyone on offence, and 2 or 3 deep.
