I'm a fan of DeRuyter. Very good defensive guy.

I didn't really know much about him, but his wiki profile was encouraging.

DeRuyter became Texas A&M's defensive coordinator in 2010. The Aggies ranked 104th in scoring defense in 2009, under a 4-3 defense. In 2010, under his 3-4 defense, they improved to 21st in scoring defense.

He was interviewed for the Head Coaching position at California State University, Fresno, and was selected to be the new Head Coach of the Fresno State Bulldogs for the 2012 season.

He coached Fresno St to a 9-3 record and it looks he coached the Aggies in their Meineke Car Care Bowl victory in 2011 too. 10-3 as a head coach.

Ha! Beat me to it!

Local news is pretty surprised. Everything was pointing to him staying as of this morning, then POW.

@Walter - Sorry for correcting your post. Looks like you had it right.

No problem Dude. You seem more informed on the Colorado stuff than me anyways. I was just guessing.

Rumor is Butch Jones is the next UK coach (current Cincy HC). Was holding out for other offers but unlikely to get them. Poor UC can't hold onto a coach for the life of them.

That website has Martin as a possible candidate for Purdue. I think that he may be more likely to leave for a job like that than Diaco and it would suck for him to go. I completely forgot about the possibility he could leave and he could very well be as big of a candidate to leave as Diaco. I hope that none of the coaches really invest too much time interviewing/ or leave before the NCG

Martin is a more likely candidate though the lacking popular buzz of Diaco. Martin came to ND to get "his ticket punched". He was a veteran HC without big school exposure. He was a position coach the first year and then the OC.

Did he get the finishing school makeover in two years at the fishbowl?

Purdue's AD specifically mentioned needing to excite their fan base. Their attendance and general excitement around the football program is well, putrid. I just don't see Chuck as being the guy that could do that. I believe they will look to make a splash with a young gun or firey guy.

Why would anyone want to go to UK? You are setting yourself up for failure. Atleast at Cincy you can snag some pretty easy BigEast championships.

I am planning on transferring to Purdue next year, and I gotta say.... I would love to have Bobby D coaching in West LaLa... I just need some kind of ND connection up there.

I don't always Neg Rep.but when I do, it involves people who want Diaco to go elsewhere.

Dafuq? How is he even an possibility? I'm no fan of FSU but that's a real program, not a move up job. (I'd put it above Auburn.)

Coached there a while back. He has been linked to it for a long time but said today he is happy at FSU and will be there "as long as they will have me."

I know Fisher was an assistant at Auburn before but I don't think it's a bigger job than Florida State. I don't see that happening. Also find it kind of weird they would be considering Malzahn but not Strong, although since Strong is from Arkansas maybe you would prefer that job.

FSU fans aren't real happy with Jimbo. Could be a mutual parting of ways.

Plus Jimbo is a meh coach. He'd get eaten alive by Saban.

Auburn and NC State are now in the market for new coaches.

Vacancies right now:

Auburn
NC State
Tennessee
Kentucky
Arkansas
Cal
Idaho

Probable:
BC
Colorado
Purdue?
Illinois?
Others...?

Why Il? They just hired a coach last year. Beckman has never done well his first year. Ever. I have my hypothesis on that. But has something been said? If it has, leaving Toledo was a HUGE mistake, bigger than I thought. Because Toledo now has Campbell. With all the openings I hope that Toledo can keep him for a while.

Don't question his logic my friend. He called the Buffs and it completely through my local media into a whirlwind. It was completely unsuspected. If you get a chance to listen to Embree's press conference, do so. It was quite the spectacle.

@KyleTucker_CJ: Per a source inside UK athletics, Butch Jones, Sonny Dykes and Mark Stoops have all said "no thanks" to Kentucky.

Smart men......If I were a coach that could get a decent gig (like the guys mentioned), I would not even consider UK. It's a death trap.

Kinda surprised that O'Brien is out at NC State. They were 7 - 5 and gong to a Bowl. And he was 40 - 35 over 6 seasons.

On that note, anybody think Jimbo Fisher gets canned if he doesn't make a serious run at the title in the next two years? This year was supposed to be a cake walk for the Seminoles right? Florida really kicked the crap out of them too.
