Just ran into Banner inside of the Bassilica of the Sacred Heart. He looked to be enjoying himself. He is one BIG kid!

I gotta believe ND is the only campus where someone could run into a recruit in church.

My fiance and I were chillin outside the Gug when the driver dropped Zach and his mom off from the airport. "Kevin" from the football program came up and grabbed Zach's bags and introduced himself then turned and started walking towards the Gug. Zach looked down to zipper his jacket, looked up, took two steps towards the Gug and was greeted by us saying "Welcome to Notre Dame Zach". He was completely taken back when he heard his name at the end...it took him a second to process it then he grinned ear to ear and said thank you. His mom was completely cheesin and you could hear her giggling and excited as they walked away. He is definitely one BIG boy.

Hearing we may have passed Michigan and there is a very good chance we currently lead for this young man with his two West Coast Visits still to come.

Heard he and Gunner want to play together? Any truth to this?

They hung out a LOT together on their visit last weekend. I think Gunner committing is the breaking point for this class, and if he commits the flood gates will open. Banner is a real possibility, and getting Gunner would be a huge help. It is looking more and more like Payton is going to be Irish, and another guy that Gunner would certainly help lock up.

This. Gunner will do a lot for this class. I thought Banner was our best chance at an elite OL going into last weekend. I feel better about that now. UW will still be tough.

I agree with this in principle. I think if Gunner commits sometime over the coming weeks we end up pulling Banner, Agholor, and Schyler Miles as a result. Assuming no collapse, I also see us landing Odenigbo when all is said and done. I just think ND is the perfect blend for that man. The last one or two spots? I really don't know.

No matter what, it is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL that we go 4-0 over the next 4 games. A single loss in this stretch = doom.

Feeling even more confident now seeing that Kuehnja posted a 247 link in the who's likely next thread that shows the 247 guys are on the same page as the person I heard from in thinking that we may have passed Michigan for Banner.

We haven't offered Schyler Miles yet right?

You have to add Payton to that list we lead now. Will be interesting to see what Poole and Pittman will do.

Does Banner still want to play BBall. Would be a awesome center.

He should take the Golson approach to hoops. Focus on School and Football and once hes settled in then maybe think about it... Im sure he enjoys the sport but his MAX potential is on the left side of the offensive line. I starting to think we wont see much until the Gunner domino falls , unless payton commits. But I like our chances with Banner

Didn't Gunner say he was thinking about taking officials now? So his process could draw out.....

Reading not one of your strong points? Or is it the reading comprehension part? it clearly says they have emerged as a favorite, then quotes Banner as saying he knows they will be one of the teams that have a chance in the end, and two lines later again quotes Banner saying he isnt so sure about them being the leader of the whole thing although he heard that is the rumor going around. Maybe I'm not too bright, but that sure reads as Oklahoma is one of the favorites, but he isnt so sure he would say they are THE leader.

I skimmed the article and saw favorite ... Oklahoma. Should have read it completely but don't have to be a **** about it.

Appears to have not liked his ND visit as much as Michigan or Oklahoma. Still visiting USC and UDub

It's all good, I was actually just busting your balls...no harmful intent. I do agree with you that from that article one would think he enjoyed OU and UM more than ND, but I have heard otherwise, the guys at 247 also believe otherwise and they are usually a lot more dead on than the guys at rivals.
