Yeah there really is no room for crap like that. That is MSU and OK type classless crap. Kid is lucky he didnt get rolled one night after school except our cupcake society is so bad that the boys fight like girls anyway.

Don't worry, some snowflake principal will make him apologize. I hope he forces Jenkins to make him apologize for dropping a 50 burger in the Coliseum and planting an ND flag in the SC. Everyone hates ND already, embrace it and give em something to chew on every now and then.

I can only dream of what Jimmy Clausen would have been like had he been on this team. Faux-humbleness is so tired. Give me someone who will kick the opponent in the teeth after he calls it from the locker room.

Those 08/09 offenses,... man what those teams could have accomplished with just above average defenses.

I wanted to see Tommy Z and Co. lead a charge to Sparty's 50-yard line in 2006.

They could've cleaned up the three "guards" that were protecting the turf.

I'm cool with eye-for-an-eye in rivalries with stuff like this.

You want to throw a halfback pass while you're up 30 in the fourth quarter? That's cool. Just don't act like a bunch of bitches when the stud QB hangs a 40-burger on you the next year and claims your turf as his own for a night.

It all comes around, and will go around again. I never understand why high schools openly complain when this stuff goes down. It's rite-of-passage stuff.

Coldest shit I ever saw... about ten years back I'm on my high school coaching staff and we have a bye week so I go scout one of our biggest rivals (one of the longest running rivalries in the country actually), Barstow High School. Barstow had this kind of condensed version of the veer (meaning everyone lined up right behind center, it was wild to watch when it clicked) that they ran and their coach would run up scores with it something awful if you let them. This coach was not well liked by anyone in the area,... he was known for being pretty classless on and off the field.

Okay, so I'm scouting this game where they are playing one of the local giants and the opposing team jumps on them early and it's basically over by halftime. In the second half the opposing coach switches it up and runs BARSTOW's offense against them and they proceed to drop 40 more points on them running their gimmick offense. I'm on the sideline at the end of the game and hear the opposing coach bark at the Barstow coach, something along the lines of, "How'd your bullshit, gimmick offense look in the second half there coach?"

This is all Lugg's fault. He should have told his coach, "Don't mess with Phil, I ain't gonna be here next year to stop the pay back"

Nice, but as an old Defensive coach, if I were scouting, I would have thought, "Dammit!! Something else to prepare for!!!"

We had luckily already played the opponent in question. If anything it gave me to look at with that compressed offense.

Guys Im all full hardnoseness. Im all for drive the point across. Im not all for running 1st string offense in the 4th quarter up by 4 touchdowns. And Im not for planting flags then guarding it like you are some kind of hardbutt chain gang or something. It is sports, not gangland defending the hood. Play the game, humble your opponent and leave like a man.

Did Phil and his teammates guard the flag? We're they threatening to the band or those who hadn't left after the game? Maybe I missed something. Seem's like a harmless... victors enjoying their spoils over their rivals. You beaned my guy last year, I returned the favor. It's sports, it's high school. Go TP the other team's HS and have a couple of fights outside McDonalds and work it out.

The guarding chain gang was in reference to MSU that year they planted at ND and the next year when ND won at MSU, they stood at the 50 slumhoodin it and daring ND to come plant on theirs.

"slumhoodin" is a word I need to incorporate into my vocabulary.

I can respect that stance.

There is a simple fix to preventing this from happening. Win the damn game and you don't have to worry about it.

So excited about this kid. It’s funny how things work out. I thought Blake Barnett was going to be what Powlus was supposed to. Instead, Brandon Wimbush has us on the verge of a huge season, with plenty more to come in the next couple of years, and we are going to be followed by potentially the most gifted QB all around that I can remember. Lots of fun to be had.

Really want a thrower that is mobile and make some runs to keep a defense thinking. Not a whimbush that can run super and make some throws sometimes.

We will see. But, if Phil can do both at the next level. That will be awesome.

I’m just tired of holding my breathe on Brandon’s every throw.
