Is he an EE? Because if he is I feel like he actually has a chance to start. BW will probably be the starter, but he really needs to work on his throwing, pocket awareness, and big game mentality. I like Book, but he's not a great runner and I don't think he has the arm strength a QB would need in our system. Phil might just be the most complete package we have at QB.

Did you forget he was criticized for a throwing motion that needs to be fixed at the next level? He's not going to start over Wimbush next year.

We’re already moving on from BW and Book? BW gets his mind right he’ll be a top QB in 2018. An offense designed around Book could put up POINTS. A LOT OF THEM. Jurkovec 2020 for me still.

I think it's Phil 2019 for me, book on that INT missed a wild eopen tE on the bottom would have been a 10 plus yard gain

I'm not convinced Brandon is ever going to be a championship level QB. His passing skills that he needs to have to beat teams like Miami and Georgia just aren't there. Book is a quality #2.

What are those?

You are correct on Ian, but he chose us over Mike Leach. He decomitted from Washington State and committed to us. He is a great quality #2. I’m happy he is here.

I’m just worried that when bk gets his hands on Quarterbacks they get worse.

Chryst, rees, Everett, Kizer, Zaire—they just don’t get better under BK

Disagree with that. He got more out of Rees than I ever expected. Zaire's injury ruined his career. Kizer did extremely well and should have stayed one more year. He had some struggles last year but that had more to do with so many other things. I keep imaging Kizer as a SR. leading this year's team.

I can understand your points. Just don’t agree with them. But, certainly understand your points. I really don’t think BK is good with Qbs. Either developing, or getting the right ones for what his system needs.

But, at least the red/purple face yelling is gone towards his qbs.

I just hope next fall camp the QB isn't given to Wimbush. Should be open for competition.

Disagree. Rees probably over performed his talent by a considerable margin in his playing career at ND. EG messed his own career by missing a whole season due to his own fault, but I am convinced if he gets to play 2013 he ends up being a borderline ND legend.

Zaire is a worse version of Wimbush and injuries derailed his career. Kizer did very well in two seasons but made the jump a year too soon. He should have come back.

We have had pretty good QB play since 2012 all things considered. There aren't really a lot of truly special college QBs out there. Deshaun Watson was one, Tebow before him. Right now though? Who? My wife's whole family are Gators fans and believe me they would kill for a QB like Wimbush, flaws and all.

Mayfield and Jackson are great college QB's. Will be interesting to see if their games translate to the next level.

I’ll never understand the overall lack of acknowledgment for Baker Mayfield’s stardom on this board.

I have become a big fan of his this year. Actually now believe he could go in first round despite his lack of height. Kid is a winner.

Agree with your take on Florida.

I do get tired of excuses. Injuries, academics, etc. Do they get better or not.

It is what it is. There has been shaky qb play for years, and turnovers are a huge issue. Is that coaching? I truly think bk needs help in developing Qbs. Just my opinion, we all have different lenses. The proof will be shown in how Brandon improves. We all want the best, I just don’t want to hear excuses. Either they get better or they don’t.

Maybe that’s why they have changed to a run based offense, because throwing is an issue. I guess that good coaching changing your offense to your personnel.

Anyhow, we will see. I don’t believe he is great with Qbs. Sure hope I’m 10000 percent wrong.

We all want an Irish Champion. (To go along with Molly Seidels cross country championship and 10k).

Go Irish!!

When any of those QB's lead their teams to national titles I'll put them in that "special" category. Rudolph strikes me as a system QB.

How much is that signed Jake Coker jersey on your wall worth?

JT Barrett was the next QB to go on that list so I'm adding him now since he's special to you. And what's wrong with a great system QB if you are using the right system?

Nothing wrong with that.

Deshaun Watson is a superior QB to Mayfield and Barrett. Besides, Cardale Jones won the national title, not Barrett.
