That's exactly my point...anyone Oregon hires will come in either completely unproven, or with hair all over them.
So they might hire Wollybug?
Or his wife?

His wife got laser hair removal. They had to take out a second mortgage and it took 10 months of appointments to remove all of it, but she's slicker than greased owl shit now.

Based off what- that he was a one time verbal commit to oregon and that ucla's newly hired head coach was at oregon in 2013?
Or is there more to that belief?
Well, I don't consider Oregon hiring Leach as "getting hit by a pitch, just to get on base." For the money they'd give him, relative to these other ludicrous deals, I think it'd be a good hire.
PS. Your analogies are terrible.
ok
Leach's PAC 12 record ..........26-28.......
Didn't say it was a homerun hire, but I'd rather have Leach for what Oregon would have to pay him (let's say 4MM/year) than Jimbo for 7.5MM for 10 years or Taggart at 5MM for 6 years. Who, has a losing record as a HC.
At WSU the last 3 years, overall, he's 26-12. After he took over a complete dumpster of a program, that won 14 games in the 5 seasons prior to his arrival in 2012. And I think it's understandable it took him a few seasons to get the turnaround in place, as it's tough to recruit to Pullman.
He'd have a much better team in place when he walks on campus in Eugene. As well as, a DC in place that he didn't have when he started at WSU.
The 2017 coaching carousel is becoming very similar to the NFL franchises and it's lust for having to have a "big time" QB. Too much money being thrown at regular dudes, and it cripples a franchise/program, when you are wrong. Because at the end of the day, these all can't be elite coaches, which is what Arkansas, ASU, UF, etc. have found out the hard way.
Save the money on the buyouts with these crazy contracts for coaches that probably don't live up to them, and make it easier for the good coach to recruit. Upgrade facilities, increase assistant pay, etc. And, if an "elite" coach happens to be available, you are in a better position to make a play for that guy.
Leach would be a good hire.
Not in Eugene...far too liberal a town for his antics. Pullman is as backwater as the PAC12 gets and he is oK there.
You, very much like me, think Leach can be a very good coach. But it is all about fit. A very liberal west coast environment pretty much tops the chart as a really bad fit for a guy like Leach.
So you're telling me people in Oregon have issues with pirates??
LAX is gonna be on the lookout for a chance to make a Jimmy Mac bet.
"If he doesn't wash out and transfer, I will run a naked lap...."
I thought Jimmy was banned for not running his lap......"no lap, no peace!!!"
UCLA is our biggest threat I believe unless Oregon makes some type of home run higher

Oregon site says they were told he commits back to Oregon if they move quickly with a hire, instead of taking forever.
247Sports and Irish Illustrated informed its readers on Monday that Notre Dame was back in play for Portland (Ore. ) Tigard four-star wide receiver Braden Lenzy, a one-time Fighting Irish commit.
When the week started and dialogue was picking up between him and the Irish staff, Lenzy was still committed to Oregon, the school he flipped to from Notre Dame back in the summer. With head coach Willie Taggart leaving Oregon for Florida State, Lenzy decided to open up his recruitment.
On Wednesday, following an in-home visit with offensive coordinator Chip Long, Lenzy told 247Sports that he would take an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend for The Echoes, Notre Dame's annual football awards banquet.
"It went really great. There wasn't no awkward questions, we already knew each other," said Lenzy. "He made everything easy, both football-wise and with track. He and the entire staff are very supportive regarding me doing both at Notre Dame at the highest level. Honestly, it was great listening to how he sees me in the offense. He said I'd be in the two-deep and without a doubt, I could be a kick returner as a freshman."
This is a huge visit for the Fighting Irish coaching staff, because this group is pushing hard to get Lenzy in this class. He brings a ton of speed to the position and could be an immediate contributor, both in the two-deep at wide receiver, and as a kick returner as a true freshman.
Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan State, UCLA and others remain in play for Lenzy and a decision could come at any time, whether than comes within a week or two, or closer to National Signing Day in February.
"He and the entire staff are very supportive regarding me doing both at Notre Dame at the highest level."
“They saw track as a secondary sport,” Lenzy said. “While I saw it as an equal.”
“To them it was if you have time,” said Tigard assistant football coach and head track coach Shane Kessler. “Their understanding of him running track was that it was an accessory.”
The more he pressed the more it became clear that not only was their outlook of the two disciplines completely different, but that the Irish preferred he give up running track altogether.
Notice that word “real”. That’s become a buzz word around Lenzy following the incident with the Irish. Because Lenzy believed he’d had the wool pulled over his eyes once before, he’s strived to only consider teams run by “real people”.
“I just now know that not everyone is telling the truth," he said of the experience. "It happened. I learned from it and I’m not going to let it happen again."
“You can say a lot of things and use a lot of words to describe coach Taggart, but the word that to me applies to him the most is real,” Lenzy said.
Honestly, it was great listening to how he sees me in the offense. He said I'd be in the two-deep and without a doubt, I could be a kick returner as a freshman."
Is this kid not a viable corner or is he just that much better as a WR? Cause we could use a corner or three.
Well, which is it?
Just such a fucking joke. And the fact that he's not even going to own it is comical. I'm serious... if he doesn't at least acknowledge the bullshit he put out there in public less than a month ago I don't want him as part of this class.
