Is this a 3rd strike for weed?

What do you win if you get a 4th strike? Another year or is that the final straw?

Asking for a dispensary owner in Niles. No italics.

If weed is covered in the 20th provision within the student handbook would it then be a 4:20 violation??

I'll see myself out.

#1 SR Chase Claypool
#2 RS SR Chris Finke
#3 RS FR Lawrence Keys III
#4 RS JR Javon McKinley
#5 RS FR Joe Wilkins Jr.
#6 RS FR Braden Lenzy
#7 JR Isaiah Robertson
#8 RS FR Micah Jones
#9 FR Cam Hart
#10 FR Kendall Abdur-Rahman

INJ - JR Michael Young
SUS - SO Kevin Austin

They'll be fine. They've got 10 scholarship WR's. 8 of whom are in their 2nd year in the program so they know the plays, have been in the weight room, and are fully incorporated into the program. Really only 4-5 guys will see the field a lot on gamedays anyway so it is nice to have depth, but I think they'll be fine and some other guys will step up. Here's the catch count of WR's in the last couple of years

2018
#1 Miles Boykin - 59
#2 Chase Claypool - 50
#3 Chris Finke - 49
#4 Michael Young - 7
#5 Kevin Austin - 5

2017
#1 Equanimeous St. Brown - 33
#2 Chase Claypool - 29
#3 Kevin Stepherson - 19
#4 Miles Boykin - 12
#5 Cam Smith - 8
#6 Chris Finke - 6
#7 Michael Young - 4

2016
#1 Equanimeous St. Brown - 58
#2 Torii Hunter Jr. - 38
#3 Kevin Stepherson - 25
#4 CJ Sanders - 24
#5 Corey Holmes - 11
#6 Chris Finke - 10
#7 Miles Boykin - 6
#8 Chase Claypool - 5

Obviously you have to hope there isn't a disparity between #3 and #4 this year because last year was ridiculous, but still with good depth there's not a strong likelihood that you'll need more than a top 5 with some potential reserves for emergency spots. I think 3-6 you've got a lot of exciting potential with some speedsters (Keys III & Lenzy), a big time recruit who hasn't popped yet (McKinley) and an underrated recruit that the coaching staff loves (Wilkins). I think they've got a lot of different exciting tools at WR and I'm curious how they'll look!

I know that, but if this didn't totally blindside him or make him feel like he got screwed, why transfer and learn a new system if you're going to be on the practice squad for a year anyway?

If he stays at ND and handles his business, he's walking into a starting job next year.

Because if he sticks around and slips up once, even if its just being around people smoking and getting a second hand high, then his career here would be over and he would have to start over again somewhere else anyway.

If the suspension is due to marijuana, then that means he has failed three tests in a year on campus and now he has to go the next year and a half at a minimum without failing one more. If he is planning on sticking around then he better be sure he has a Dex level turnaround otherwise this could end up screwing him.

I would think if its weed that would hamper a transfer. i.e. he winds up at UAB etal. Seems if he's serious about football needs to find another way to party

As long as Claypool and Finke are ready all season, we'll be great. Long is thinking so much of multiple running back sets (even three at a time) that he wasn't all that big at mentioning two TE sets in his interview. Kelly will breathe greatness on the receivers and Book will deliver the Golden Eggs. Jafar and KyrenW will allow us to forget that there was any concern about receiving passes on this team. We gonna be Beast.

Kevin Austin is on the fast track to being one of the biggest busts in the BK era.

It sounds like Austin and the coaching staff knew this was a possibility (missing the whole year).

If he came to camp anyway, that's a good sign.

Besides, if he transfers, he's missing a year either way. So unless it's academic ineligibility, why not try to stick it out at ND?

Could see it from another perspective too. He's young, and he likes the weed. He could get a fresh start somewhere else since he has to sit out a year anyway and they'll probably be more lenient/lax with his smoking. We'll see how he responds, hopefully he cleans up and sticks.

Agreed but I want Kmet and Young to hurry up and get back as well. It is a loss but not season altering.

If he isn't a fit I would not mind him splitting and freeing up a scholarship for a walk on.

If a guy was already facing a suspension (which usually means at least 2 positive drug tests) and goes out and gets a third, what do you think BK and Long think?

I can't imagine it's anything positive.

They probably think how can this kid be so stupid. How is that on them? Kid made a silly choice. It's not like they can follow him around and beg him not to break the rules however archaic they may be.

If the offense is a 3rd positive test, that says quite a bit to the coaching staff.

You two are on the same page. I think Ndaccountant is saying his actions say quite a bit like he doesn’t care about the rules.

Do we really know it was weed or an educated guess. I'm not him, but after the first offense, I'm going to be very cautious. After the second I'm probably done with it until schools out. A third offense tells me he isn't taking things serious enough or he's not mature enough to control it, which means #4 is probably coming and he will end up at another school.

He basically said he heard at first it was all season and every situation gets an opportunity to be appealed. Apparently his appeal was accepted and now is only suspended the first 4 as originally planned. Nothing confirmed and no ones commenting officially right now. Said wait for BK presser tomorrow. Hopefully this is true and we’ll get some confirmation tomorrow. It’s great for the team and all, but mostly for him. Apparently he is doing what he needs to do if this new info is true. *fingers crossed*

I've seen a couple of mentions that he's doing well in school. He's got a real opportunity to change his live over the next 2 years. So, hopefully he takes full advantage of that.

That’s good news. I hate to see these kids blow such a good opportunity.

Tim Prister on II podcast said he is "a good student"

Come on Kevin, enjoy the ganja in the offseason if you're handling all the other stuff.

I wish the laws would be updated but don't jeopardize your future.

kid knows the rules but must not comprehend what is on the line here. HE passes the eye test 110%. HE has the potential to be one of the all time best if he had the heart of the Kelly RKG that we hoped for. I see this as a huge opportunity for McKinley to get out of the dog house. Does he get to participate with the team in any way? Does he preserve a year of eligibility? Losing Young for half the season makes this just that much more. None of his backups have his physical overall skills imo.

Jordan Johnson is coming for it all. This was a pivotal year for Austin to make a claim for that Alpha WR role next season.

Wait I'm confused. There's a chance he only sits four again now?
