I think he’s just that confident in his abilities, and quite frankly, I don’t blame him. No one has been able to stop him. Maybe a good showing by Wimbush and the receivers in our bowl game will give him something to think about. Give the ND staff credit for putting in the work, and trying to convince him to go to ND, but I don’t think it will be enough.

Even Wiltfong is not immune to the directives that come from above...

If he flips the CB, ND fans will ignore and avoid clicking on ASB articles unless something drastic changes. They're gonna ride it out a bit longer and make sure they get all the clicks they can until NSD... at which time this type of sh*t will flip to the '19 class.

Yeah that's strange for me too. Heck, they are both up for Gatorade Player of the Year and both US Army All Americans. I wonder if Phil hasn't tried recruiting him hardcore or if they have had any contact whatsoever.

Wimbush will be better next year just a fact of nature and development. After that you have Ian/Avery and mighty Phil coming in. I wonder who would win that battle when the time comes.

If ESB comes back then that should tell you that he thinks it will get better. Otherwise, why come back to a school to improve your NFL stock if you don't think the QB will be better than what he was this year.

He is welcome to do what he wants, but does he expect to star next year at USC? If he were to come to ND, he would play with BW for a year or maybe 2, assuming his accuracy improves, (which I believe that it can). It is pretty short sighted approach if he is worried about that now. After all, if he is that good, what is he going to do when the Browns pick him at the top of the draft in 3-4 years (since we all know that is where they will be picking)? I think this is more about him wanted to be with JT Daniels and maybe not be in an offense that focuses more on running the ball.

Does he think JT is going to be throwing to him next year at USC? Matt Fink will be their QB he looked pretty good in the few series he had against us

I don't remember where, but I read somewhere USC is looking to bring in a grad transfer at QB assuming Darnold is going pro.

I think Amon-Ra St. Brown will have Darnold as his QB for his FR year which is nice, then probably Fink or Sears for a year or two. Doubtful he ever plays with JT Daniels. As good as Daniels is, I don't think he beats out two guys who have been in the same system for 3-4 seasons. I think JT Daniels is probably the starting QB at USC from 2020-2021 or 2022. Don't think he starts freshman year.

If Darnold knows what's good for him, he'll play another year at SC. Of course, it only takes one GM with Flutie-colored glasses to draft that dude in the 1st...

To keep some perspective on how big of a deal this would actually be for his "production", Kevin Stepherson has been ND's leading WR's for the last two games. He has 8 rec. 215 yds. and 3 TD's.

For USC, it has been Steven Mitchell. He has 8 rec. 147 yds. and 0 TD's.

Now, they've had more WR's get in on the action so to speak, as Darnold as can spread the ball around better. But if you believe you are the "alpha dog", then does this really matter that much?

Does not matter. He isnt getting off the bench next year anyway at SC. Guys, SCs receivers are 4 and 5 stars, not scrubs. Not like this guy is all world starting day 1 anywhere he goes.

Dude if a TF starts, then your WRs that have been in the program 3-4 years flat out suck. I cannot imagine how bad you must be to be passed up by a guy catching post patterns in HS after you have been working in the system for 3-4 years.
