I care. Come to Notre Dame. Bring your enthusiasm. Play with big bro one season. Don’t listen to the hate. Your family is not like those Ball clowns. Not every Notre Dame fan thinks alike. Take the more challenging route on and off the field here. It will be challenging in many ways, but it will give you the genuine confidence to go anywhere in this world. Distinguish yourself with a National title that many fear is out of ND’s reach. You will be a legend forever. We need you here more than USC, and you will have immediate opportunity to show what you are made of.

I like your point of view....it's positive!

I am hoping Polian gets involved with his recruitment, he seems get the kids out west to come to ND.

Most likely to happen?

A) ARSB in So Cal, ESB in the league
B) Both in South Bend
C) ARSB in So Cal, ESB in South Bend
D) ARSB in South Bend, ESB in the league

I say C w A as my next most likely.

Color me skeptical when 247 gives a freebie with so many glowing things being said about ND by the father of a 5 star recruit.

I do believe Dad is sincere, but the part of that I'm skeptical is that this isn't a premium article. To me it just screams, we need to keep these ND folks interested in this recruit for more clicks etc, but they know he's not coming to ND.

Wait, I revoke my prayer image...We have posters re-sharing same article I posted on 12/8... Old post is old.

I don't think he's coming here, but it's at least nice to have their dad do a complete 180 from what he felt last year. Also shows he was likely 100% right about everything he said regarding S&C, etc. and we've made the correct changes.

Great article and all the right things said, just wonder, if all this is true and ND is a very close potential choice, why dad focuses on BW when Phil will most likely be Amon-Ra's QB longer than BW

Will Ben interesting to see what kind of time ESB will get in lil bro goes to USC. If ESB keeps dropping passes he will see the bench. We have too many other options to pander to ESB anymore since he will have run out of oddly named brothers to recruit. I don’t know how someone has such an average season and decides to come out early. Isn’t he going to be a junior next season? With that said I hope they are both here next year and bring it!

ESB is one of our best receivers. I doubt that the coaches played him this year as an act of "pandering". But if they did, I presume you don't think very highly of the staff to conclude that they wouldn't play other more productive receivers on our roster for the sake of a high school recruit.

(And in my op, Amon-Ra is a badass name. But if you are used to Bill, John, Rick, and Steve, then I can see it being odd.)

Highly doubt ESB's PT had any correlation to ASB's recruitment. I wish ESB would be more aggressive for 50/50 balls. Also wish he would lay out on occasion. That said, who do you propose is a better WR1 option at that position?

think he's a tad bit overrated.

great player obviously, but I don't see 5*, top 10 player in the nation. Top 100, 4*? Sure.

He's just not the type of big, freakish athlete that you'd expect a WR rated that highly. He checked in at 5'11 and ran a laser timed 4.67 in the 40 at one of the Opening camps. You want to see someone check in at 6'1+ and run in the low 4.5's or better if you're going to rate them that high IMO.

Justin Shorter by comparison was at the same event and checked in 6'4, 213 and ran a laser timed 4.52.

You and ESPN rankings must have something in common then when rating him.....

Lol ok. ESPN ranks him as a top 50 player in the nation. Which is about where he belongs imo.

A top 5 ranking nationally like Rivals has him at should be reserved for kids that are athletic freaks and look like 1st round picks as high schoolers. Don't think this guy fits that mold.

Nothing wrong with being rated at #49 player in the country like ESPN has him rated.

Think this kid suffers a little bit from Matt Barkley syndrome. Barkley went to the same football power HS, put up the same gaudy stats, and was rated the #1 player in the entire country- despite being 6'1" on a good day and having a weak arm. All that hype of "he's a future #1 NFL draft pick" was just that- hype. Barkley was a 4th or 5th round pick I think.

But...

Who cares about the NFL projections? Being compared to Matt Barkley can hardly be considered a bad thing. 4 year starter, 13,000 yds, 150 QBR (without looking) The guy is literally Top 20 in every category... ever.

Stick to your first point. He may be a little slow to be who they say he is. HE looks like Steve Smith or Golden Tate except he's not reporting 4.4's. I think that's fair and I've said the same thing.

He also has a QB even better than Matt Barkley up to this point dropping him dimes every play.

I won't be surprised if he's NOT Golden Tate in college but I will be surprised if he's a 500-800 yd receiver. Dude's a dude.

Yeah we're pretty much agreeing with each other lol.

I said I think he'll be a really good player. Top 50 in the nation like ESPN has him ranked is nothing to sneeze at. All I'm saying is, I just don't think he's top 10 in the nation.

Rivals has him at #3 in the entire nation. All I am saying is...I think of guys rated that high...I think of DGB, Sammy Watkins, Stefon Diggs, Percy Harvin, Julio Jones, AJ Green. He's just not in that same universe as those guys imo. Just all on another level talent wise.

ASB had 8 rec for 137 yds and 2 TD's in Mater Dei's 52-21 win over De La Salle in the State Championship Div 1 game.

ASB finished his HS career with 44 TD receptions, an OC record. He passed TE, Tae Le a Sr. at Corona Del Mar this year. Remember that name because he'll be at Stanford next year.

The thing I think that is overrated with recruiting is the star system and the rankings.

Getting a ton of 5 *'s vs. getting 3 or 4*'s don't matter to me anymore.

What ESPN thinks vs. 24/7 is just an opinion vs. someone else's opinion.

I've seen many MUST GETS in recruiting and A-mon Ra is a must get.
