Very good. He needs to put in 13 or 14 games like he did the Georgia game.

Very important player for next year with Claypool gone. Need a proven, reliable target for Book or Phil

Idk, the TE class in 19 was really strong, but this one is pretty weak. I'd assume he gets a Day 2 grade at worst based on available TEs. Brycen Hopkins, Albert O has fell off this year, Hunter Bryant, and Pinkney are probably the only guys sniffing Day 1/2. Last year there were like 8-9. I know Brevin Jordan looks like a beast for the 21 draft, but not sure outside of that.

You're right, it's not last year as far as a class but Albert Okwugbugnum (sp) out of Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin is a name I see all the time. I liked him a lot in '16 for ND but they skipped TE that year. Colby Parkinson (Stanford) and Charlie Kolar (Iowa St) are Jr. eligibles.

This is HUUUUGE! Not only for the team, but possibly for the development of Mayer and the other young TEs. Im smelling a captain!

Guys like this aren't coming back to play for a coach who is tapped out and has no fire left....

Don't disagree. Playing devil's advocate, could this be more about playing baseball and a future in MLB? I don't know what kind of a prospect he is. Regardless this is great news.

IDK man...of course being a lefty helps but last I saw he was only top out at 87 mph. Those pitchers are a dime a dozen my friend. He's not the prospect Samardzija was. IMO, Cole would be better suited sticking with football.

Came here to say the exact same thing.

I let myself get way too excited about Fuller saying he'll be back in 2016 to let me get my hopes up here. I hope he keeps his word though, but a high grade could be awfully tempting.

He's pretty much guaranteed a Day 2 grade based on a weak TE class, but he also a lot to gain by coming back. It would be fairly easy for him to become a 1st round guy next year, which obv means more $ and a 5th year.

The fact that he almost laughs at the question if he will leave early tells me he has some unfinished business. Kelly has a great track record for getting our stars to come back and that gives me confidence. Im not putting all my money on it, but I'm a lot more confident he will be back now. That makes Hayes, Kmet, Crawford, and Eichenburg all back for next year and all 4 could be captains.

I thought he said he would not be back. Did something change?

Give me all of the 5 TE sets. Kmet, Wright, Tremble, Takacs, and Mayer. Remember when Kelly used to use the phrase "Big Skill"? we definitely have it.... now just need to add the Big Speed.

Oh, it's coming. Mike Evans...I mean Jordan Johnson is on his way, and also Chris Johnson...damn, I mean Tyree is on his way. Don't know what got into me today. Speed kills, hopefully our OC is a 5* too.

Plus Bauman who was the #3 TE at one point, though he will most likely red shirt next year. ND 2020 TE room will be without a doubt the most Talented in the country and probably for years to come.

Dane Brugler of the Athletic just released a positional top 10 with Kmet as his #1 TE. Will be interesting to see if Kmet stays if he gets similar feedback from the rest of the scouting community.

Haven't heard anything about him coming out. Would seem prudent to stay one more year to develop his game, but there is a lack of quality two-way TE's in the league. Would suck if he goes after one productive season, but we have other options on the roster.

If you're a health junior and you'll be the #1 player at your position, is there literally ever a reason to come back?

Such a pitty how under utilized he was as a frosh/soph for guys like Alize Mack. We should have gotten a lot more out of him prior to this year.

Yes he missed a game for an ankle sprain, I'm aware.

Completely overrated and I never understood why they stuck with him the last two years.
