BK? All I see is some old photo Kmet posted with Chris Penn and George Hamilton.

George Hamilton? GTFO. BK's tan is only Stage 1 in the George Hamilton sphere of tanning. Hamilton hasn't been that light in the last 30 years. He would laugh at you for even trying to compare.

Barry Switzer, I think it was, used to talk off his shoes and start picking at his feet. If he wasn't kicked out, he knew he could probably land the kid.

Cole was the starting pitcher today for St. Viator, they were playing my brothers school Benet Academy. He pitched I think 5 2/3 scoreless and also went Deep in the 7th, when he was taken out they put him in CF which tells you about his Athleticism. He is all of 6'5" 250 kid is a monster. Very excited to see him in Blue and Gold

Pete Sampson continues to hear great things about this kid leading him to believe he'll play this year. Very impressive, doesn't look like a FR.

Man, it's a good thing when neither of your freshman TEs look like freshman. Now the question becomes, how do we find playing time for 4-5 TEs? Smythe has earned playing time, Alize has earned playing time, Wright and Kmet have both impressed early and Weishar may yet surprise us?

At least we have one position group that appears stocked to the brim.

Put the pups on ST. Give them a couple of reps now and then.

I still would pump the brakes on the optimism for the TEs. Brock will probably get playing time, but rookie TEs in the NFL are notoriously unproductive; I imagine the same is true for true freshmen TEs in CFB. For all we know, they'll hit a wall in fall camp and the luster wears off

If the staff intends on bringing Weishar back in '18. RS one of them.

2018 looks to be set but 2019 looks like a thin crop and the top of the rankings for those obvious ND demographic targets. I think it will be a year where ND is on a lot of tables though.

But who knows, maybe TE U pulls a Boomer or a Goede?

I think the more obvious targets are:

Thomas Gordon TX
Kyle Bilodeau VA

Good news is 2019 is a great year for TE's in California so ND makes a lot of sense as an alternative to SC, Stanford, UCLA... and 4 of them are Catholic school guys.

Why would you RS a guy you know is a 4 year player. Kmet isn't going to stick around for 5 years. No reason to save a year of eligibility if it isn't going to be used anyway.

Let the best guys play and I wouldn't mind playing Kmet at all. He's already a miss match with his size and you pretty much know what you are getting with Weishar and Smythe. I hope to see a lot of Aliz'e and Wright this season.

Comparing them at the same age age I think Kmet is a stronger version of Tyler Eifert. He's going to be a great player.

If Weishar's in the rotation and he's coming back, RS one of the freshman.

If they are both better than Weishar, play them.

Why? You RS to save a year of eligibility. Neither of these FR. TE's will be 5th year players.

That's an opinion. Durham Smythe was the #6 TE per 247.

It's an insurance policy whether you think so or not. If they aren't getting significant clock, why burn the year? If they both don't take Weishar's snaps, why burn it?

If they both pass Weishar and you burn both years, then play the sh!t out of them and get them ready for '18 because if Weishar is #3 on the depth chart, good chance he heads off on a GT. Smythe gone and Alize could go to the NFL and that leaves you with Kmet, Wright, and true freshmen Takacs and Tremble (assuming). Now you are thin and vulnerable to injury because you didn't handle Weishar correctly.

Smythe was 247 comp #249 player in country while Kmet was 84th. Smythe needed a year of development. So far what you hear about Kmet and Wright is that they look like veteran college players not FR.

He's up to 245 and still has the quickness and soft hands from when he was lighter. Per ISD

No way he get red shirted. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a starter.

Starter?!?! With Alize? So he could displace Smythe and Wright? And all of our TEs could move inline or flex out and any combination thereof? Chip must be licking his chops.
