White Sox are looking for a closer for their 10 year reign of terror.

I see him more as the big lefty set up guy like Matt Thornton but sadly it's a hard pass for me knowing he's a Cubs fan. Look how miserable Shark was when he had to play in Boystown.

Listed at 6-5.5 and 258 now. Told ISD that he did 225 17 times (Smythe did 18 at the combine, 5th most) and get this, has a 38" vert. Eifert was 6-5/250 with a 35.5" vert

Uh-oh.

This pleases me. Can we please get Kmet and Alizé on the field at the same time, preferably with 2 of Claypool, Boykin, Austin?

We could even run them 4 wide although not what I really have in mind.

I really hope we see a TE resurgence this year.

We have to find ways to get him the ball this fall. You would be hard pressed to find any defender we play this fall who can match up with those intangibles.

Longs needs put emphasis on the TEs in the passing game this season; we haven't had a standout season from a TE since Eifert. Koyak and Smythe flashed, but we have the tools to be Stanford-esque at the position circa 2011-12.

Sorry but this is a pet peeve of mine. Eifert was a TE in name only. And the last standout season was Niklas in '13 with 30/500/5.

The good news with Kmet is... Not sure Wimbush can over throw him.

All those throws at his ankles will be counted as drops though. Ain't BW's fault!

All ankle throws will be directed at Finke and Keys. See you don't have to eliminate his bad throws, you just have to throw the bad ones to the right sized people. Pretty simple.

If they swing anyone with height over to cover him, that opens up the outside. We'll be very tall in the three critical receiver positions. Could be a nightmare for the opposition if the O-line holds up.

Anyone know what happened? They didn't show the play, but Tirico made it sound like he blew out his knee.

So BK trying to force the issue with BW instead of just bashing a bad team might have cost us Kmet for a good while. Great. Just fucking great.

What a shitty take dude. This was a freak accident and shouldn't be blamed on anybody. Kmet would have been getting plenty of reps even if there was a blowout. I get that you're pissed but this is completely irrational

They briefly showed him standing on the sideline afterward. Said it was a "right leg injury." Looked more ankle than knee when he was coming off. He probably sprained an ankle. If it was broken he wouldn't have been standing there.

Really? Because there were a ton of takes, including from the reporters, that we should get a big lead so we can take all the starters out and get out of this game injury free.

It was a freak injury, but most usually are. Want to know a good way to avoid those injuries? Keep the players off the field. Blow the game open and get your starters and key backups out so they avoid injury and get rest so they are more fresh for November.

FFS he didn’t get injured because of BW.

No, not because of Wimbush, because BK or Long tried using this game as a practice instead of just taking care of business and getting to the next game healthy. I fully believe that Wimbush could have absolutely torn Ball State apart if they had let him run in the first half. Not only did it loosen up the defense, it seemed to get him in more of a rhythm and kept his confidence up.

on more than one occasion in the Ball State game, Kmet was WIDE open and Wimbush either didnt see him, or choose not to throw him the ball.

I tend to think that Wimbush just didnt see him.
