That's awesome news. When someone said they didn't show the replay/injury for a reason, I assumed the worst.

Figured it couldn't have been too bad if they let him stand around on the sidelines on it. Good to hear though.

My cousin has a class with him, said he asked how he was and how long he would be out. Cole said 2 weeks

Holy shit, that's incredibly good news! Would not have guessed the prognosis would be that fortunate based on how it looked. Not to mention the rumors swirling...

“Doubtful” for Saturday with a sprained ankle, Kelly said today, per the twitters.

Great news indeed. Another plus is we are pretty deep at TE. Guys slide up 1 spot to fill the whole. Wonder if Nic or Brock gets more significant PT?

They should get him the ball downfield more. I think he's a better vertical threat than Mack.

For as athletic as everyone says Mack is, and clearly he is a physical specimen, he goes down way too easily IMO.

Yeah I agree, I keep waiting for him to bust out the hurdle; DBs keep going for the ankles and he just kinda rolls over top of them.

I wonder if that's something coaches avoid instructing because they don't want to see a kid get hurt doing something he's not comfortable with. Either way, it's an instinctual thing and he seems to kind of just accept the YAC that the defense gives him, and could do a much better job of creating his own.

Kmet can't get low and takes shots to the legs like crazy. It bothers me for some reason.

I honestly see Mack and Kmet as very similar in the pass gaming. As far as what the results have been and what they are capable of.

At this point in their careers Mack is a better inline blocker though. now that could change as Kmet get older.

What I would like to see Brock Wright get an opportunity to catch those 5 yard flairs and see if he is able to run over a few defenders with his physical stature. I hope once Mack is gone after this year the Wright gets more looks at the inline TE spot as opposed to the FB position he is currently playing.

He is gonna be a big part of the offense next year if he stays healthy. Kid catches everything thrown his way.

I truly thougt he’d be more of a focus for the offense. Maybe he was & Book regressed to just locking in on Boykin but Kmet’s injury kept him under the radar so I thought ND could really exploit that.

Really glad to see Alize make the most of his last year and Weishar have a good experience going out but I think a clean slate for the TE room will be very healthy for Kmet and Wright. They'll be Juniors and really have a chance to take hold of the position group. I think at times that position has struggled a little bit with an identity crisis. How many reps does Weishar deserve? Which Alize is going to show up? etc.

A lot of that identity was due to the play calling. One game we find him, the next game we don't. Mack's inconsistency contributed to that as well.

Yea, I don't think playcalling has much to do with it. Who was the leader of that room? You have an incumbent guy like Weishar that everyone likes but has virtually no production. While the most productive TE doesn't seem to have leadership qualities. Ideally you want the most productive players to be the leaders. We should have that next season.

So now Brock Wright will actually play TE and not the dumb FB position they had him playing in short yardage? Brock Wright can now an inline TE? Now Kmet can be the flex TE?

I'm sure you'll see that package but Tommy Tremble will play next year and you'd think he'll be a definite Flex option from Day 1.

So BK really really really promised to throw the ball to him this year.
