If there was one that has shown they deserve the looks I'd imagine BK would be finding them a way. We seemed to for Alize, can't be a random coincidence.

So far this early it's seemed we've either needed the TE's to help in PA or our first/second reads have got open and we haven't needed them.

But no designed looks necessarily.

I personally do wish we would called a few first read TE looks a game, but maybe no one's earned them.

It's only 2 weeks in and week 2 was Nevada. I think we'll see more looks. Maybe even today.

TE Cole Kmet fully committed to Notre Dame

“This year hasn’t had any negative impact on me at all,” said Kmet. “I’m fully committed to the program. I plan on getting there, getting to work, and trying to get on the field next year. I definitely plan on playing special teams next year and then with tight end, just competing for a spot and trying to work to get in the rotation."

Also, his Senior Year highlights:

I will give BK credit - by and large he seems to recruit to ND, not the coaches. Then again, ND looks like the much stronger asset to sell....

"FIVE OTHERS OF NOTE

...Notre Dame tight end commit Cole Kmet showed a complete skill set, an outstanding blocker, was a presence catching the football. One rep his block on the perimeter helped spring Tennessee bound running back Ty Chandler."

Army Bowl Practice Report Notre Dame commits

VIP post on 247 states Kmet showed up at 6'4 253. Getting it done well blocking an laying into LB's plus getting open and catching the ball well. Also stated that he likes ND chances on Martin who is performing very well especially at getting open, being creative and catches the ball very well. Very good speed as well.

I realize 'Kmet' is probably like 'Smith' in your part of the country, but I first thought he was advertising a radio station on the back of his jersey. KMET JAMZ.

Another player who caught my eye before I knew who he was, this time he was rumbling down the middle of the field. My thought cloud read, "These guys are getting him AND Brock Wright????" Nice tight end monopoly you guys have.

He's been pretty athletic in the air on contested passes, which isn't the most common thing for a big tight end. He's not going to Gronk people and get separation with his speed, but he runs well for his size. Rather than some of the freakier tight ends who move like small forwards, he's a still athletic power forward. Nothing wrong with that, especially when you want the duality of blocking as Kelly so often does.

He could be a bit more fluid as a runner, but again, he's not just some spread offense flex tight end who's really a glorified big receiver, he's the real deal at the position. Because fluidity isn't as important at tight end, as say, wide receiver, it's not a big concern and he still turns and reacts well when the ball is in the air.
Synopsis: Prototype Golden Domer tight end to pair with your other prototype Golden Domer tight end.

Army All-American Bowl: East top performers - Thursday

4. Cole Kmet, TE, IL – The Notre Dame commit didn't necessarily dominate as a pass-catcher on Thursday but he really impressed me with his versatility. He's a capable pass-catcher but I love the way he's doing work as a blocker in the run game. The East squad is using Kmet in an H-back type of role through much of the practice and his effectiveness and willingness as a blocker is a good sign for Notre Dame.

Sadly this quote is true.

I've always been intrigued by an H-back who can block and be a better pass catcher than an inline TE. Basically Chris Cooley in his glory days with the Redskins.

LUNCH PAIL

Cole Kmet
The Lunch Pail Award is for the guy who does the dirty work that doesn't get into the box score or noticed by many and it was an easy call to give it to Notre Dame tight end commit Cole Kmet. Known more as a flex tight end prospect, Kmet proved his ability to be an in-line blocker throughout the week of practices, then was arguably the East’s best blocker on game day, yet never got a pass thrown his way.

Great, he's a good inline blocker. Thought we had AJ's replacement at the flex, someone BK would actually throw to. I hope BK doesn't read these things. Maybe some italics needed. Maybe not.

Wouldn't he redshirt and be a weapon for the guy who replaces Kelly after BK wins 10 games and leaves for Florida/whichever NFL team offers him a contract?

He better redshirt.

As for the other stuff, don't talk dirty to me now, I'm not a morning guy... haven't even brushed my teeth.
