Guys, It's mental toughness I am trying to say. This guy played hurt and was a beast in the first part of the game.
He didn't leave the game because Vaughn was pushed into him.
He was lighting up Etienne and probably got hurt on one of the 2 previous plays. But really?

Great season. Rough night in coverage once Love was out. He tackled well for the most part and nobody can question his heart or effort

This really is not a great comment, but yeah, it’s a free world.

This dude balled out all season. Thanks, Alohi!

Agreed. Kid is a tough SOB. Obviously a great kid to boot.

common sense says he was injured. Played really well pre-injury and was not the same again. Alohi was not the reason we lost this game. We had a completely inept offense that couldn’t accomplish shit for an entire game. Our “QB” was a shell of his true freshman counterpart. 50% comp with 4.7 yds/att and 2 TO’s will make a game really hard for everybody.

I thought I heard on the after game radio report thingee (pandora was down in car, actually turned on the radio) that he had 18 tackles. Sure he had a struggle or two in coverage, but does anyone think we'd have done better without him this year. Dude is a flat out hitter.

I’d take him 1000x over Elliott or any other safety

Notre Dame safety Alohi Gilman equaled the @NDFootball bowl record of 18 tackles, initially set by Rod Smith vs. Florida in the 1992 Sugar Bowl...

Let's put it in context.

Lawrence was 14 of 24 (58%) for 98 yards (4.1 YPA) and no TDs when Love was in the game.

Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence was 13 of 15 (87%) for 229 yards (15.3 YPA) and 3 TDs in the second quarter without @NDFootball All-American Julian Love in the game.

Is there any replays yet? I would love to watch without emotion.

I remember watching after Love came back and thinking "yep he would have made a big difference".
I also thought Pride had a good game.

All season he was reliable and seemed to always read the ball correct. However that was not the case tonight.

I don’t believe we will ever question his heart. His heart will put a C on his chest one day.

Alohi is going to be a big piece of our defense next year. I think he'll have a big voice in the offseason and he'll be a (well deserved) captain next year.

I agree. He has a great mindset and is going to be one hell of a leader.

Highest graded safety

Finishing with the nation’s highest grade at safety, Gilman put forth one of the lower-graded outings in the College Football Playoff but that should in no means discredit what he was able to do over the course of the season. Against Syracuse’s potent aerial attack, he was targeted three times and came away with two interceptions, showcasing his elite coverage skills for the position.

Imagine if the NCAA wasn't a crock and had granted him immediate eligibility in 2017

Anyone see the letter he received? It is ridiculous! Don’t know how to post an image.
