I can't find any announced landing spot.

There isn’t one yet. He’s waiting to drop his “exclusive commitment video” with some guy on Twitter. Probably this weekend I’d guess.

Texas, UGA, and GT fans all feel good, apparently. No idea if those schools are actual options right now, or if he even wants to sit a year.

If all three feel good, then you know he probably won't end up at any of them. Lol

Lol he’s got some WVU content on his page, so he could very well be willing to sit for a year to follow his old position coach and play in the air raid for a year before trying the NFL.

Alabama, Georgia, Texas, WVU finalists for Cal transfer Demetris Robinson

One Power Five football program is shortly going to be on the receiving end of a very talented gift a couple of weeks before summer camp kicks off.

Over the weekend, Demetris Robertson announced that he has whittled his transfer to-do list down to four schools — Alabama, Georgia, Texas and West Virginia. The gifted wide receiver will announce his new college of choice this coming Saturday.

This announcement comes a little over two weeks after Robertson took to Twitter to confirm that he would be transferring from Cal.

A five-star member of the Golden Bears’ 2016 recruiting class, Robertson was rated as the No. 1 receiver in the country; the No. 3 player at any position in the state of Georgia; and the No. 13 player overall on 247Sports.com‘s composite board. Robertson’s initial recruitment was an unusual one as he didn’t sign until May 1, nearly three months after National Signing Day, and then stunned the college football recruiting world by picking Cal over Notre Dame and home-state Georgia.

Given the fact that he’s from the state and described “personal matters” as his reason for leaving the Golden Bears, the Bulldogs are viewed by some as the favorite to land one of the fastest players in college football.

At Cal, Robertson, at least initially, lived up to the recruiting hype as he was second on the team as a true freshman with 50 receptions for 767 yards and seven touchdowns. His 15.3 yards per catch were tops on the team. After catching seven passes for 70 yards the first two games of the 2017 season, however, he was sidelined for the remainder of the year by what turned out to be a season-ending lower-body injury.

Robertson will have to sit out the 2018 season regardless of which school he ultimately chooses. He would then have two years of eligibility at his disposal beginning with the 2019 season.

Michael Chigbu, Georgia WR, RS Senior, who has been injured in throughout his career, has announced his retirement from football. Georgia had been at 85 scholarship players and are now at 84 at my last count.

With Jordan Davis enrolling at JC, Alabama is at 84. Davis was a signee in the class of '18. No word on why he is enrolling at JC.

Texas boards are fairly negative that Robertson will be coming there.

Davis went JUCO due to grades. Not hard to figure that one out. There is speculation that Bama won't take DRob even if he wants to come. The needs are more at LB and DL and the thought process is why have a WR - which we are good at right now - be here one year and lose out on a positional need that would be here 3-4 years. The T. Lewis injury didn't help either. I expect DRob to be at Ga. and that's probably where he should have went to begin with. Also, the speculation on scholarship numbers for Bama is that they are currently at 83.

But Alohi Gilman... nah, that's the waiver we're gonna deny.

WTF?! These waivers make absolutely no sense. What's the reason?

The good news is that he might be gone by next year when we play them if he has a good year.

This... so much of this. Gilman, by all appearances, is a gentleman and a scholar. I was so disappointed he had to sit out a season but accepted that rules are rules... still felt he got burned on that one. I wanted D-Rob and still do, but this is absolutely B.S. unless there was a sincere "hardship" clause.

Does anyone know why the waiver was granted? I can't figure this guy out and there MUST be issues the general public is missing. Go Irish!

If Gilman were from IN like DRob is from GA, I think things would have been different. Not saying it's right, it just is what it is.

I can’t remember and I know it’s been awhile. But did Amir Carlisle have to sit a year?

Wow, this is complete bullshit. Transfers have become free agency. It’s a shame they’ve fucked up college football so much.

No but I'm pretty sure USC released him from his LOI or whatever it's called allowing him to transfer anywhere with immediate eligibility.

I thought he sat out 2012

Edit - he was injured 2012, but got a waiver??

Googled it and got 3 different answers haha. A 247 article said USC released him, another site said he sat out 2012 as part of the transfer process and another one (below) said that he was granted a waiver by the NCAA. Who knows I guess haha. But I seem to remember USC releasing him which had some of us around here wondering why seeing as ND and USC play every year.

Amir Carlisle has no regrets over transfer from USC to Notre Dame - Pac-12 Blog- ESPN

Plot twist: Robertson has a good year and jumps to the NFL, and Georgia has one less weapon when playing ND in ‘19.

I seem to remember this^

He had an injury and took awhile to heal from, can't remember the details.

He broke his foot in the spring, IIRC, in some sort of incident involving George Atkinson. Just can't remember if he was going to sit that year or was allowed to play. His family had just moved from California to Indiana, was the reasoning.

Or he washes out by next September. I'd put even odds on those two outcomes.
