Some guys on ISD think he can be Michael Floyd. Anybody else have comparisons?

A taller David Boston once he starts eating American steaks and lifting weights. He looks like the type of dude that packs on ten pounds of lean mass just looking at a squat rack.

I don't care where he plays but whoever takes the D coordinator job next year should lobby the hell out of Kelly to move him. He could be a beast edge defender. Him and Hayes would give ND some length and athleticism that's clearly missing. Who knows, maybe they'd get a sack or two.

Sampson must read you daily.

As funny as that sounds, I posted some info on a couple of players visiting for Duke and saw the username of one of the industry guys reading it afterwards. Later that evening they posted some things about them and their visit. He didn't use any of my info that wasn't available in local newspapers or their associated message boards but some of them read this stuff for sure.

I'm in no way suggesting Sherm stole it from Sampson, but given the time of Sherm's post and Sampson's twitter post, I don't think there is any way that Sampson got it from reading this thread.

Lol yes Sampson posted first. But I don't have Twitter nor do I have any subscriptions to any sites.

I was actually cleaning out my DVR last night and saw the game was still there, thought I had deleted it Saturday night. I decided to watch the come back, because I can't stomach he 2nd and 3rd quarters. Watched the Claypool catch and thought to myself where was he lined up. Rewatched the play and to my astonishment saw he was lined up inline as a TE.

Basically going forward he is going to take over what Alize was supposed to do this year. Super excited to see this kid progress this year and the next three years.

If he plays today, I didn't see him. Why do we not play the best athletes?

Kizer missed a ton of throws today. The WR's are the strongest group of the bunch. Claypool hasn't done anything to play over the starters.

He wasn't talking about Claypool playing over WRs he was talking about Claypool playing over TEs. That was very clear. Arguing that we shouldn't try to upgrade our weakest offensive position because our (above average) QB will probably miss him on the throw anyways makes you an idiot.

You do realize Wr and TE are different positions with different responsibilities. To act like we can just get Claypool up to speed with that position during the season isn't as easy as it sounds. There are a ton more things to criticize about the coaches then not playing Claypool.

Kizer is not immune to criticism. He has been poor the last two weeks. He missed an easy throw to St Brown on the last drive that should have gone for no less than 30 yards on the last drive.

Kizer didn't have his best game but he's not really the problem here. Suggesting we shouldn't play Claypool because "Kizer sucks" seems juvenile.
More generally I agree with you, our WR's are pretty good and Claypool probably hasn't learned the blocking side of the TE game. So not sure how many sets he can make it onto the field for. He's got a place in jailbreak "everyone run downfield" kind of scenarios, but not beyond that yet.

Yeah Kizer has been crap the past two weeks. I think it's time to let Malik or Wimbush should get a shot next week.

You do know Claypool lined up at TE last week right. All I'm saying is have him in on a dozen plays or so a game.

Kizer is by far the least of any problems this team has. And has been by far better than any QB who's seen the field for us this year. And you want him benched? If you think we're bad now.........

Anyone thinking the QB position needs changed doesn't know football and if BK is actually considering it he is in that category as well. Yes kizer hasn't been at his best, but he's still out best option by far at the QB position

I haven't seen many on this board indicate a change in the QB position. But Kizer hasn't played well the last two games. I know he can do better and I expect him too.

You are far too kind!

Oh, so maybe you aren't an idiot, you just don't know anything about football . . . Or interpersonal communications . . . Or reality . . .

If you are saying the wide receivers are the strongest position group on the team, that explains everything. They are far from it. They are entirely inconsistent as a group. But they are getting better.

What has Claypool shown to be on the field over the starters?
What position group has produced more than the WR's?
I never said they we're perfect but they've done really well COMPARED o the rest of the team. You want evidence? We're - 1-3

Re-watching the game and Claypool is fun to watch. He's all over ST's giving 110% effort. And watching him run 70 yards downfield and make open field tackles makes me think he should be playin both ways, lol. He's shown flashes on offense so I understand keeping him their, not going to make a big stink about this. However, if we are trying to fix this defense and some think talent is an issue, look no further than our best ST's tackler, right? Him and Hayes can be our Miller/Ware over the next few years, one can dream

Would be awesome!

But the way the D has been playing, I'd say it's closer to Cagney/Lacy or Rizzoli/Isles than Miller/Ware

There's is no reason not to try him out on defense. Seems perfect for Diaco's CAT position, no? If they're going to be running more 3-4, why wouldn't you at least audition Chase in that role?

Bottom line, get this kid on the field more.

I could be wrong but I believe Chase missed a tackle on a kickoff that lead to a 'Cuse big return in the 2nd half.

I remember seeing it and saying to myself, "well, at least he's a WR."
