"That's basically one of the reasons why I picked Notre Dame," Claypool said. "They have had plenty of success at wide receiver, and I know that's what they want me at, so I'm just excited to get down there. They have always been telling me wide receiver."

"I watched basically every episode on my computer," Claypool said. "It just got me more excited about coming because I was able to see what the coaches and players were like both on and off the field."

He probably came here to find the episodes in our thread. ;)

The only time you'd come down to Canada is if they were recruiting in Alaska... #WeTheNorth

haha reminds of the place where i grew up where folks say "I'm going down 'the north" and it kinda makes sense because where we were was a mountainous area whereas the area's north of us were lower :)

Someone once asked me what direction you face when you kiss the Blarney Stone : UP!

Probably the most intriguing player in the class.

Hopefully he tries out for the basketball team. BK said he's damn good in his presser today.

Probably has as much upside as any player in this class. Big big fan here but I'd still like to see him on D, provided he doesn't mind hitting people. We'll have the talent on O to produce and he could add to that but his skillset on D is something that I think is needed more so than on O. JMO.

Hir or be hit. I wouldn't mind that athleticism on the defensive side.

I prefer he stays with football only, but he did have 51 points in his game last night.

If we sign D-Rob, put him at OLB. If not i'd probably keep him at WR. I'll be disappointed if Claypool doesnt turn into one of the best players from this class. Has incredible physical tools.

As coaches said, not many players you could get excited about playing either WR or DE.

Someone scoring 50+ points in basketball doesn't strike me as a defensive minded person - now if he pulled down 20 rebounds a game maybe.

I'm thinking he eventually ends up at DE?

Personally don't want him at DE. Physically, he's big enough to make an impact this year and be a mismatch. Don't take a physical freak at one position that can contribute next week and put him at a position where best case scenario, he starts contributing in 2 years after putting on weight like it's his job.

I agree, keep him at WR. Play in outside, inside. There won't be too many guys with his speed and size in college take advantage of it, he will be a match up nightmare.

It will be interesting to see what really happens with this kid. I want to see what the coaches have in mind.

There are few individuals EVER that have successfully been an impact true WR at that size. Megatron is about only guy I can think of. Of Chase ends up the next CJ amazing, but seems doubtful. Hybrid TE or moves to LB IMO.
