Am I forgetting somebody Kelly hasn't suspended after being arrested?
It's February. What's he going to be suspended from? Winter workouts?

From the facts that are known to the public, this sounds like an extra sprint or two thing max. Some of you are making it sound like he went around kicking puppies.
Again, the only reason this is a big deal is because he has been rumored to be transferring (or at least seemed like a potential candidate), and we are over scholarships.
What happened here? Never recovered from the broken leg?
II new podcast thinks he gets dismissed. ND needs spots and he hasn’t performed. Sounds unfair but when you don’t produce, you are on a tighter leash. That’s just the way it goes sometimes. I’d love to see him finish out next season and then grad transfer but I don’t think he’ll be on scholarship for the fall semester. He’s finishing up his 6th semester so if he’s dismissed he’ll probably have to pay his own way for 1-2 semesters until he finishes up. Hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

I'm sorry, but that's baloney.
If we offer a four-year scholarship, as we do, we shouldn't use a relatively minor disciplinary matter as an excuse to push a kid out because we're over 85 scholarships at the moment - in February - and he "doesn't produce."
Maybe there are details we don't know. Or he's had trouble before. But if this is it, and McKinley was a starter, it would be probation and internal/university discipline - a one-game suspension seems about right - and everyone moves on. That's how they should handle this, not "Sorry you screwed up once guy, hope you land on your feet."
Yes we should. You want to win? You lose the dead weight. A police issue just gives you the license to do so freely.
DJ Morgan is graduating at the end of summer session. Von and DJ got to campus at the same time. Hopefully he can do the same and GT. He'd have 2 years to play just like DJ.
Well that set him back, yes, coupled with the emergence of Boykin and Claypool and Stepherson really panning out from the 2015 class kind of buried him a little bit as well.
I thought DJ only has one year remaining. I didn’t think he redshirted.

it’s not baloney. Brandon Tiassum is a case of that. He was sitting on the grounds keeping tarps as far away from the field as possible in his last game at ND apparently and that irked the coaches big time according to the II podcast and Tim O’Malley. Did that cause him to be dismissed, probably not, but he wasn’t arrested, and didn’t seem to be getting in trouble all of the time, but I think they used the small things to make space on the roster. Tom Rees kicked an officer, got a one game suspension and now is the QB coach for ND. You think CJ Holmes was treated the same as Michael Floyd? Everett Golson, Kevin Stepherson, Max Redfield, and others were all treated differently based on circumstances, the crime committed, and definitely their value to the team. Don’t give me this naive crap about everybody getting 4 year scholarships and the coaches would never force them out. That’s ignorant. If you show up to workouts on time, go to class, and don’t get in trouble, then you’ll definitely be on the team for four guaranteed years. II mentioned Darnell Ewell as one of those guys who the coaching staff is still working on and working with because he’s showing up to class and giving max effort in practice and in the weight room.

What about Finke? Everyone always forgets Finke.
For those contrasting to Tommy Rees... he was guilty of running from the cops. The "lifting a knee" into the police officer thing was BS and was dropped. Running from the cops at a house party is very different than getting blackout drunk and then throwing punches.
The better comp is Devin Butler, who was dismissed from the team but allowed to stay in school.
