So our favorite analyst just posted a really cryptic article on the Oregon site:
Anyways, I was posting about this in the Waller thread for the past 72 hours or so but there just seems to be something really weird afoot. I don't know if we're about to have some musical chairs with someone like Rosen or Brady White or Stidham or some other committed QB like Wimbush... or if it's something with an uncommitted guy like Gibson/Locksley/Francois/etc. falling into place for some other programs.
But I'm also thinking there is something going on with ND, because frankly I don't know why we wouldn't be all over Waller if we didn't have some other sort of angle that we're working hard and we believe has a good chance of panning out.
Anyways, QBs almost never historically decommit but it seems like this year may be an exception with a huge set of musical chairs due to Blake the Flake.
With the decision of four-star quarterback Blake Barnett in the books. Oregon moves forward looking for a quarterback.
The staff immediately offered San Clemente (Calif.) star Sam Darnold. DuckTerritory had reported the staff was high on him and saw him as a better fit than Travis Waller.
However with the options dwindling and July nearing, Oregon doesn't have the luxury to wait around on Darnold. Contact has been made with Waller and the interest is mutual.
An offer to Waller will go a long ways and the Ducks will likely..........

An offer to Waller will go a long ways and the Ducks will likely move to the top. However I'm still not certain he gets an offer just yet.
Here is the new wrinkle, if you will. Had Oregon gotten a commitment from Barnett or Kyler Murray, the staff was only going to take one quarterback in 2015. However that plan has been altered.
Should Oregon get a commitment from Darnold or Waller or other, the staff will continue to dig for a second option. The staff continues to exhaust all options moving forward and I have a feeling Oregon will land either Darnold or Waller.
Are there other 'moving parts' in the equation still? Yes.
I've already hinted there is another quarterback option for Oregon that remains, and there is. In fact Oregon is likely tied with another program for an elite signal caller. News on this front is expected to be known soon. Waller's offer is hinging on this news.
If this player committed, Oregon would not take any more quarterbacks.
The staff is also evaluating Ross Bowers but an offer isn't ready to be made yet. It wouldn't surprise me if Bowers visits in the next month.
Do yourself a favor here, look up Baylor Romney from El Paso (Texas) Franklin high. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has yet to earn an offer but Nevada could be close. Oregon has taken notice of the athletic quarterback. Nevada is one of the better quarterback evaluating schools in the country.
Here is his Spring game highlights Romney Spring Game
Another name to watch is Tre Moore from Missouri. The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder raised the eyebrows of many scouts in attendance at the Ohio Elite-11.
