Or Bears - they have a midget backing up their feature back.

It wasn't getting better. He was a RB with a knee injury who was averaging 10 YPC for much of the year last year. You need to get out and get your money. $140K on the practice squad for a few years is better than most.

I almost always think guys who've only been at ND for three years are better off staying (see Kizer, Deshone). But not Adams. He'd done everything he could do with us, was losing McGlinchey and Nelson to run behind and had been hurt so many times at a position where you only get so many carries.
He'll make it in the NFL or he won't, but another year wouldn't have improved his chances.

Nah. He made the right call.

I think he would have benefitted with a degree and another year of development personally.

I guess we can agree to disagree.

I bet most degreed ND Alumni make $140K pretty quickly. And it just gets better?

He probably wouldn’t have. He lost 2 first round NFL picks in front of him, this year wasn’t going to top last year. He can always come back for his degree, it’s not a now or nothing thing.

Well, I agree he'd benefit from his degree and I certainly hope he goes back to finish it. As I suspect he will. But I graduated from Notre Dame almost 20 years ago and let's just say I'd earn significantly more in six months on an NFL practice squad than I ever have in a year working.

The Bears have Benny Cunningham, who's a very solid reserve back, who does just about everything decently. Doesn't surprise me that they didn't go after Adams. They're all set at RB.

Just saw that the Eagles signed him from their practice squad. Could get some PT if Ajayi has to miss time. Good timing too as Wentz is expected back next week.

Would like to see Josh do well, just not this coming Sunday.

I know what you mean as I am a huge Colts fan. That being said, hope he is somewhat productive this weekend, as long as the Colts win. As far as the rest of the season goes I hope he goes light out!

I doubt he gets more than a few carries. Clement is still healthy. I imagine he’ll be getting most o the carries.

Why did he think leaving early was a good idea again? Yikes!

I'll never fault a running back for leaving early after a productive career. By all accounts he was draftable if it weren't for that nagging injury around draft time that caused him to become an UDFA.

Undrafted rookie Josh Adams, the fifth-leading rusher in Notre Dame history, had 30 yards rushing on six carries for the Eagles. He was promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week.

I was surprised Adams went undrafted. He's never going to be a shifty ankle breaker, but he's a North South runner who definitely has a spot in the league.

So Josh Adams was a lot more than "dinged up" at the end of last year.

Was surprised he hasn't gotten a few more carries given the Eagles circumstances... I totally expected him to get a bit of a chance to prove himself.

I am guessing the insurance company had to be sued...unless they happily came good on their side of the policy. I didn't know he had an injury at all.

I’ll certainly be watching. Picked him up in both my fantasy leagues including my dynasty league. Really hope he continues with this play but gets more work. I’d love to go into next year with him being their lead back.

I agree. What a steal for the Eagles. Hopefully Josh keeps up the good work.
